Post your 4 (FOUR ONLY!) favorite trucks of all time
4 Attachment(s)
If you're like me, this will be very difficult... but we might all learn a little bit more about you based on what you think are the best ever! But, you can't post your own! Feel free to give a reason why you like em if you want, or just the pics. But no more than 4! I'll get the ball rolling...
1) the reason I love the K20s. Stick a camper on it and travel the countryside (literally) with the dog. This beaut disappeared off the map about a year or two ago in AZ, haven't been able to track it down yet. It's a Custom Camper also, and in my favorite 68 paint combo. 2) K20 Cheyenne Super in 556. Say no more. Ahhhh..... 3) K20 Cheyenne Custom Camper. If it were a Super, it'd be my dream truck. 4) The truck I hope Pete can someday talk the owner into selling. K20 Cheyenne Super, white over red with parchment int. Looks all original and I would love to have one like it. |
Re: Post your 4 (FOUR ONLY!) favorite trucks of all time
I only own one truck and it's the only truck I've ever owned, but I do want to own others.
1). My 1972 stepside, 3ott, 250 I6, 4.11 rear end. *Don't seem to have a photobucket pic of it. Darn. 2). This should do. 3/4 or 1 ton, lwb, 4x4. Everything I wish my truck was. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1359357060 3). 3/4 ton Suburban. I'd want a manual 'cause those are more fun. Plaid seats, all three rows, barn doors on the rear preferred but not necessary. I'm not a big fan of the trim pieces down the sides as they'd catch salt and debris, but it does look nice. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/1kC6L2FguNo/maxresdefault.jpg 4). I'd love a panel, 3/4 ton and 4x4. http://hooniverse.com/wp-content/upl...557-AM.bmp.jpg |

Re: Post your 4 (FOUR ONLY!) favorite trucks of all time
pictures are highly encouraged :) I probably could have been more descriptive in the original post. Was thinkin of others' trucks you may have a picture of - could be a member or one you snapped a pic of around town. Brochure truck, etc. You name it! Thanks for all the posts. Interesting to see the wide variety. And, yes, non-chevs are A-OK!

Here's the pics I illuded to earlier. The story behind my first three choices are: my dad and I started the 57 build when I was a jr in high school(I'm still working on it some 11 years later but it runs and drives, just needs mostly small things to be finished. The my dad had a 72 K/10 when I was a kid and he and that truck are what got me into these old trucks to begin with, so it's only natural that I ended up with one:). The 98 my dad bought in 04 as I was learning to drive, I bought it from him right before my wife and I moved from Virginia 3 years ago. It's a piece of home here in NM. And Petes truck.... Well need I say anymore? It's beautiful!!!

Well this one was a tough one and they are in no particular order the first one is a 1984 or 85 Jeep J20 although if I could find one it'd have the manual transmission and 4x4 and be copper colored my dad had one like that and I know nothing about it he sold it when I was 5 and really how many jeep trucks can you say you've seen recently I don't remember seeing one in quite some time.
The second one would be any 1988 through 1990 Chevrolet Cheyenne or base GMC Sierra 2500 or 3500 2wd I spent many a day growing up in the passenger seat of these trucks I'd love to have an 89 Cheyenne 3500 in dark blue that was the first vehicle I ever drove when I was 13 or an 88 Cheyenne 3500 in municipal yellow with a Knapeide body on it. The third would probably be a 1966 Chevrolet Series 70 with a GMC 305 v6 and a digger derrick body on it I find old purpose built trucks interesting they were always run into the ground and rusted away and I'd love to see one restored. The 4th would be any 73-87 square body base model 3/4 ton or 1 ton I also spent many a day in the passenger seat as a kid |

My first would have to be a highlander k5 in some form of blue blue
http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psmksawkfm.jpg my second would have to be a highlander k20 in "white blue white blue" with blue plaid http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psqydldmlp.jpg http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psm3ts7o9j.jpg My this would have to be a 67-72 crew cab in the same color as the 2 above, and with highlander interior. http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...pshv7udiui.jpg My fourth I am not really sure on, I would like a k20 burb, like so http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...pssejvchf1.jpg Or a 67 k20 like this one http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psh6rxspdk.jpg Or this one http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psss7ltmmj.jpg http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psl7tm3tzi.jpg http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psifhy3uqp.jpg Yeah more than 4, my bad. Re: Post your 4 (FOUR ONLY!) favorite trucks of all time
The title of this thread reminds me of "Monty Pythons Holy Grail" Hand Grenade scene. Only 4...
"And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once at the number three, being the third number to be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." 4 and no more!:jest: |

http://sv3power.com/wp-content/uploa...4_164454rs.jpg It is 4WD (the J-trucks all were, except for some early examples) but/and they do sit lower than most other 4WD trucks. If you want a manual transmission you'll either need to find an earlier truck, or swap out the TF727 for the transmission of your choice. Second favorite is Stocker's '72 K20. Lots of childhood memories in that thing. |
