Re: 67 swb fire truck
With all the tools I carry around, I almost need a utility bed!

Re: 67 swb fire truck
I was watching this one on Craigslist and when I noticed it was gone I was really hoping a board member got it, can't wait to see what you do!

But since it has that problem, you probably don't need that 292 in there anyway. How about selling me that? I have no way to store an engine right now but if my 250 ever goes out or if I ever get another truck I want a 292 to replace it. Are you going to to keep the utility bed? |
Re: 67 swb fire truck
That is a way cool truck! I hope you keep the utility bed on it

Nice find ,really nice , that looks like a Reading utility box , and I have to say I never even new they made a short bed utility box version I cant even recall even ever seeing one , I would venture to say that utility box is worth big bucks.

Chassis-Cab! What's up with that radio? Service sticker on the SPID says 'GTE'. Maybe that explains the yellow color under the red? I can't imagine a Fire Dept would have bought a used rig tho.

Re: 67 swb fire truck
I was on a volunteer department that bought a used beer truck, turned it into a great crash (extraction tool) truck. It's possible. Was this used by a city or volunteer department?

Re: 67 swb fire truck
2 PO's ago said it was the Monroe, Wa FD. So, yes city. I can tell a logo has been painted over on the doors. Maybe I can uncover it by wet sanding.

Finished a couple original caps. I think the rims would have originally been black or body color. I like the white tho.

Re: 67 swb fire truck

What's up with the dash around the radio? Are there signs on the back that the radio area has been welded in?
