Going to look at this all original, rust free 67 today. All original with 327 and th400, perfect buddy buckets, early take off tailgate for camper, and no body damage. Truck was a tow rig for an old drag racers nova back in the day. Hoping she will be coming home with me!! :chevy:

Re: Looking At Another One Today
I had to push the date to go look at the truck back to Thursday but still planning on going to check out the truck. Does anybody know if a 327 with a turbo hydramatic-400 transmission was a factory option for these trucks?
|
Re: Looking At Another One Today
It was the top of the engine option list for 67 model year. The 396 was put in in the 68 model year. My 68 is very similar to your 67 except mine was the the 396 with air and power brakes and steering[oh and color is just white]

Re: Looking At Another One Today
Thanks guys! It's a 67 CST Custom Camper 3/4 ton, fairly low miles, no rust expepr for one small doo on roof is what the seller says, tailgate is in storage and it's been on Craigslist for a few months with and I finally emailed the seller and after 2 weeks was able to set a date to see the truck which will now be this Friday. So far the story goes that this is the second owner and the first owner used it to hall his nova to the drags back in the late 70s. Still has the original 327 and you can even see the original valve cover sticker. It is supposed to be all original and as far as I can tell it it with the interior color matched carpet, original bucket seat covers, and wheels with original hubcaps. It will be a fun project for sure if I get get. Just what I need, another project. Something to keep me busy when I don't have hw and get bored over Christmas break! I will keep you guys posted as to what happens in the next few days :chevy:

Body shot. Not sure why they are all upside down. Maybe somebody can flip them?

Re: Looking At Another One Today
Very nice looking from the pictures! I was wondering about the wheel covers. They look to be 68 caps. Could the truck be a very late 67 that got the 68 covers?

Re: Looking At Another One Today
Looks good. If only the eastern guys knew how little these trucks cost over here in this condition, it'd make them even more jealous lol Oregon is pretty good for having rust free trucks and dirt cheap usually, similar to eastern WA and Idaho etc. Still lots of good finds out there if you keep your eyes open.

Re: Looking At Another One Today
Yes I am pretty sure they are 68 only caps so maybe it is a very late 67 truck. I haven't had a chance to look at the vin or SPID yet so that will be an interesting one. The only thing that would throw the theory off is the fact that has 67 only inner door handles rearview mirror and not 68 style, but who knows! :chevy:

Can you post the Craigslist Ad?
I assume you went and looked at it and didn't buy it? |
Re: Looking At Another One Today
Craigslist add was taken down about a month ago and I am looking at it tomorrow.

Re: Looking At Another One Today
Not many close ups, but seems to have some good potential.

Re: Looking At Another One Today
Haha no I will take them and get the posted the fight way  The past pictures where saved from an add so that's why they were all off and I will take tomorrow's with my phone the right way and hopefully I will get a lot. If I buy it there might now be many until I get it home Saturday or Friday late night.

Does anybody have any info on these hubcaps? Ive done a ton of searching and can't figure it out. Are they 67 or 68 caps? I'm pretty sure the truck is a 3/4 ton but in a few pictures I can see what looks like a trailing arm so thinking that the hubcaps would help us figure that out. Thanks guys

Re: Looking At Another One Today
I like it - a lot! Was chasing a replica that was a K20 awhile back - identical other than not being 2WD. For what it's worth, the neat 327/TH400 combo became available on 66's toward the end of the run. Have seen several similar combo 66 Custom Campers out there - but they're all sold before I get there!

Re: Looking At Another One Today
those are 68 caps. most of them didn't last long, so it's likely the originals didn't survive and someone replaced them with 68 caps. although anything is possible, they could have been original if it was built in late 67 i suppose.

Re: Looking At Another One Today
Well just got done looking at the truck. The truck had more rust than expected. A hole in the passenger side fender and core support are a little rusty, upper cab where the corner of the drip rail is was starting to rust and has some other problem sports too. Nothing really bad but for what he is asking for the truck I was expecting less rust. Made an offer on the truck and he said he would think on it for a bit. Also figured out what was up with the wheels, they are from a 68 motor home. Wasn't able to take picture as it is insanely wet here and raining so hard pictures didn't come out well. Now comes the waiting :chevy:
