Here is my next little project. Going to try to do a budget friendly driver. My last project was full blown, this one I want to keep mostly stock. Stay tuned as we make this truck a nice little Hot Rod that will hopefully catch some eyes. Here is what we are starting with

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Looks like a good one to start with. That ought to be easy on the budget.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Clean and tidy is a great start.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Sweet. So much easier to do stuff to em when they move around on their own power. I am soo sick of pushing.
|
Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Dang that is sure a clean truck!
|
Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Working on adding power steering right now. My last truck I was always worried about someone touching it, because it was black mostly, this one I want to be able to drive without worry. And I can throw stuff in the bed!

Love the idea behind this one. Looks like a good candidate for a Hot Rod Driver!
Do you know what those hub caps came off of? |

Seth
I know that they are not original Chevy Truck for the '66. I think that they are some poverty caps from a Camaro or Chevelle but not sure the years... |
Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Those caps also came on 69 up Nova's ,cool caps though and getting harder to find .

Finally got the power steering in. The pump brackets and pulleys put up a good fight. Thank God I had my best man willie on the case. This thing drives sooo good now. I'm having a blast running it around town. I'm pretty stoked to get some other stuff done to it to make it even better!

A little more progress. Got the stance looking good now. 5" Springs in the rear and 2" in the front with 1/2 a coil cut. Pictures are a little deceiving. It has a 1" rake.
|
Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Nice. I like the stance! I'm a fan of a little rake.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Following along too, love the keep it simple approach. 3 on the tree in mine and love it too, big fan of the painted bumpers and grill. Are they staying?

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Nice little truck! I like the "Just make it a driver" build philosophy. Trying to follow that with my truck.
