WTB the aftermarket hooks found on Fleetside's
 

You see these old hooks that are held by two fasteners usually installed on an angle on the sides of Fleetside beds. Simple fish hook design. Have holes in my box and thought , what the heck , I'll try and find some to fill these holes.

May have a few of those in the garage. I know I removed some from a truck bed I scrapped out years ago. Not for sure I kept them but will look. How many of them are you needing?

I keep getting stuck to a couple of my trucks when I walk past them, so yeah I think I have some.. How many do you need?

I need four to cover the four sets of holes that I have. The fastener spacing is 1 1/4" center to center. The fasteners would be interesting to see what was used.

Maybe the ones I have are different. I took these off a 65 gmc. C-C is only 1-3/16”. Bolts were regular 1/4-20.

The ones I have are same as tchevs in center to center dimension. Also have four larger ones that measure 1 13/16'' center to center. Sorry, can't help with the center to center size you need.

OP, not sure what look you're going for but they make these today as master chief pointed out..

I have some hanging in my desk drawer at work, google 'tarp hooks' and a bunch should show up..

just need to find your mounting centers but 1/16" doesn't seem like much, probably wiggle in there..


as far as the rusty ones offered up, you mind if I ask for some after you get yours figured out?

I was actually asking for rusty tarp hooks for my rusty 65 from a few guys I've bought parts from but never found any..

As you stated Killer Bee , 1/16 is not a lot of difference. A Patina'd washer could cover that easy. lol.

The Rocknrod , great info as always. I'll go with the rust to keep the vintage look. Really hard not to go to town as I did on my Blue one. Restraint required....lol

aerotruk63, looks like your getting set up with the hooks you need. When all said and done I'll offer the ones I have to Killer Bee. I'm on stand by right now with the rusty patina hooks I have. :lol:

I agree completely, after OP receives a good set that fits his needs..

please let us know and then I'd be happy to buy a set of 4 or even 6 if available.. long bed ;)

Hey guys. My short bed came with two broken and six like you see them. Although rusty trucks look badass, it is not for me. Since you’re in Canada figure out the shipping and pay me what you think is fair for the hooks. Just glad someone can use them.

Killer Bee, looks as if things have worked out for aerotruk63 to get his hooks. If still have an interest in the ones I have let me know. Have four larger hooks and two smaller hooks as in the picture from tchevs. Think the thing to do is start a new thread rather than coat tail along on here. Will do so with some pics if still have an interest in mine.

thank you Ironhorse! received tarp hooks carefully packed so they couldn't escape :)

the patina is great, just the right color but not eaten with flaky rust, like the rest of the truck :lol:

they will look great on the '65 and hold my tarp down tight, Thank you!

KB, Glad the trap hooks matched up in the patina department as you wanted. Look like they were "issued" with the truck when it was new. :lol:

The local hardware store has these. Also Home Depot has a very good one for rope use but there is a little bulge at the end and won't fit the eyelets of a standard tarp. (Can't find a link)

tchevs , went across the border and picked up the hooks. Thank You. Tried one and the holes line up , that's one easy fix to cross off the list now.
