USA1 Industries
Anybody ever use these door panels? looking for my 79 scottsdale
http://www.usa1industries.com/1977-8...airs-only.html I heard they were good. Thanks Chris |
Re: USA1 Industries
nope, but I ordered cab bushing kit that said in stock, after 6 emails and about 6 weeks, they arrived. I will look elsewhere in the future.
|
Re: USA1 Industries
I have heard they make very good quality stuff, but are a small outfit and that shipping can be really slow compared to some of the larger companies out there.
|
Re: USA1 Industries
They offer quality door panels, dashes and headliners, some in original colors that you can’t find elsewhere. That being said they do have long lead times...I ordered a headliner at the beginning of September, and got it in mid December after a few emails.
If you don’t mind waiting, then order early. If you don’t want to wait order elsewhere, but keep in mind the quality is probably not as good other places. Both my trucks have Mandarin interior, which is one of the primary reasons I have ordered from them. I’m about 2 hours from them but that doesn’t help unless I’m going to a car show that they will be at. |

They are the best out there right now. And the color will be spot on correct. Unlike the 4 generic colors that the other places offer. I got the Silverado door panels from them. I couldn’t be happier with the quality.

Re: USA1 Industries
I see they they have two (2) styles, one for over $600, and the ones above for $170. Just want to be sure the cheaper ones are OK. Don't need anything fancy. I bought my old set from LMC and they both cracked over the first winter.

I called them and asked who manufactured them, and they could not tell me
|
Re: USA1 Industries
Ive used them twice. C/S, prices, and S&H are on par with everyone else. The shipping is terrible! They'll take your money and email a receipt immediately but your part will arrive 2-3 weeks later...

But you’ll get what you pay for. Look and see how many colors that LMC has. |
Re: USA1 Industries
I ordered my dash pad from them last year. While shipping was a little slow the quality and fit was worth the wait.
|
Re: USA1 Industries
Slowest shipping and worst customer service in the business by far. 4 months on some of my stuff, nothing matches, many lies when asking about ship dates. Sent 3 headliners before finally shipping the correct color that was listed on the order. I can deal with long lead times if companies are up front with it, but after all the lies I’ll do business elsewhere.

Re: USA1 Industries
I need to backtrack some of my previous post. I'm rebuilding my vent windows and ordered the glass from USA. Got the usual immediate email, charge, and receipt. Had better luck this time they emailed the next day shipping the glass and I got it 2 days later. Both times I've used USA the parts fit great. Cant always say this for LMC...

Re: USA1 Industries
Would not use LMC. Classic parts of america are great. Amazing customer service. I bought their panels and they were terrible. then bouth LMC. they fit great but cracked over the first winter
|
Re: USA1 Industries
I have been waiting a year and half for door panels, sun visors, etc. Keep getting the delayed 90-120 days response from customer service. I think I have about 5 calls into customer service and they most recently wont even give me an answer over the phone.

As far as i can tell the only reason to use USA1 is for their interior kit and factory colored dye. And I also believe that their dashes are Dashes Direct brand that they dye in house. Everything else that i ordered from them is the same Chinese crap that everyone else sells. |

I finally got my door panels after waiting 14-15 months..but only after requesting my refund did they finally decide to actually ship them out in 2-3 days…they’re great and look good but I won’t be ordering anything else from them f

Re: USA1 Industries
Just had someone that I did seatbelts for. He got his door panels in 4 months, just recently.

Re: USA1 Industries
Oh "HELL NO"!! I just placed an order for door panels and dash pad 4/2022, USA-1 customer service assured me of the "10-16 week lead time"! I will be USA-1's worst form of advertisement on this forum and other forums if they take it past 16 weeks. TKCR, you stand up for USA-1, I understand were you are coming from, but.....
1.) USA-1, Don't take orders and state "10-16 week lead times", and know that is not true! If it could take 12 months, state "12 Month Lead Time"!! 2.) Not good customer service to require full payment up front and not deliver product in timely manner (as advertised). My 16 week timeline is approching, I will reply then.....:sumo: |
Re: USA1 Industries
I was told if I wanted power window/power lock door panels I could get them in a couple weeks.
My question is if they are in fact manufacturing these themselves (which i doubt) why don't they make blanks and cut the power window and lock or manual crank openings and dye them at the time of the order? It does piss me off that they take your money at time of order and not time of shipment and it could take a year and a half to get your parts! At the end of the day they have they have the best repop door panels available so you only have a couple other options high dollar NOS or good used ones if you can find them or the typical LMC junk. I guess I will be waiting. |
Re: USA1 Industries
I will say that when the time comes to order my re-pop interior I'll be ordering from USA1, but I still have an axe to grind. Specifically with the trim levels and the kits for interiors. So you can order Silverado or Custom Deluxe (CD) panel kits, but not a Scottsdale level trim. Fine. I will just have to order the additional trim inserts in crinkle black to match what comes with the crinkle black insert in the Scottsdale dash kit. But why is it so hard to just let us pick that option when buying the assembled door kits? It's like one extra drop down menu. You already have the parts and do these up in house (supposedly) so what's another checkbox on a build sheet and pulling some trim from another bin, am I right? Also, why does the CD door panel kit have the chrome door handle trim when the CD door panel they sell say it does NOT accept the chrome door handle trim? I love to support small business and American manufacturing, especially when they are outputting a quality product by most estimations, but man if it isn't mildly infuriating that some of the inconsistencies aren't dealt with. I would consider moving there to work for them if I thought I had the sauce to help them fix it, lol.

I totally missed that. Probably because I want the straps just not the shiny backdrop that is the Silverado insert.

Re: USA1 Industries
I just got an update email from Randy saying he will get my door panels and trim molding out in the next week or so... I appreciate them addressing it after I responded to the most recent customer service update. Here is to hoping orders start going out for everyone. Agreed, small businesses need to be supported in US, I think they just really need to work on customer service and giving people real expectations along with updating the site to advertise real timelines for people looking to buy parts. I will update once I get tracking or they show up.

Re: USA1 Industries
I’m gong to give USA1 a plug.
They are the most polite and friendly people I have dealt with in parts. They are slow, but in this day, everything is. I will continue to support them and buy their products because (1) they are better quality (2) American owned (3) polite .... I feel that it’s worth the wait. Just my 2 cents |

Re: USA1 Industries
Plug all you want, still haven't gotten a tracking number or confirmation after Randy told me two weeks ago that my panels were going out. Do I hope they get shipped? Yes absolutely. Do I hope they are the best freaking door panels ever made? For sure. But until these things are in my possession I can't say anything other than what I have stated. Over a year after they took my money I still DO NOT have door panels. I will continue to post until my order is fulfilled to give all the people out that are waiting, reading, looking, maybe too afraid to ask, or do not know how to post on this forum, any information other than the delay emails they send out sporadically.

Still waiting on my manual door panels and visors. It has been 9 months since I ordered them!
|
Re: USA1 Industries
I visit a few Square Body websites and have been watching these threads to see if people are getting door panels that have been ordered.
It appears not... On June 27th 2022 I ordered Slate Blue door panels, bags and sun visors. Almost a year and I have no clue on availability likelihood. I email them once a month and they do respond. But it is always a canned response. The email responses all say "There is no ETA at this time. We are currently working to have all items in stock without a lead time. If you do not want to leave an item on backorder please consider canceling and reordering when they become available. Our apologies." I don't have an issue so much with the lengthy delay. They can't help that. What they can help is letting people order items that are not in stock. Their website doesn't tell you if something is on back order. I keep my order because I think, "Surly it is any day now." I also am in no need for the panels as I'm a long way from having the body back on the frame much less doors on the body. But, I do need the panels and they are the only firm that offered GM factory colors like Slate Blue. I do have the paint from them so I suppose at some point I'll cancel and order from LMC and just shoot the color myself. |
Re: USA1 Industries
I ordered my first set from Classic Parts, love these guys, but the panels were crap. returned and went LMC, they were better, but both cracked over the winter. Look into trimming them around the vent window. I think that was my issue. I have not bit the bullet and ordered a set yet. In the middle of another build so tight on budget

Re: USA1 Industries
I bought my carpet and lower door panels from USA1, and just ordered sun visors. I love the products, and they're worth the wait (if applicable to your situation).
In my humble opinion, a small company with a backorder list is a good company to have. Good products, high product turnover (low inventory), and customers that are happy with their products is a good situation to be in. I think they're doing things fine. They'll catch up to pre-covid days. |

Now, to their credit they have offered to refund the monies and I can order when they come back into stock. I have elected to keep the order as I keep thinking "Any day now." Also, there is no way to know what is and is not in stock when an order is placed online. |
Re: USA1 Industries
My apologies, prepare for the rant, but this has been driving me nuts.
I ordered a set of carmine red 81-87 door panels in March of 2022. And of course paid up front like we all do. Here is what is in their order confirmation email (highlight by me): "Due to the popularity of our products, interior such as Door panels, Dash pads and Seat covers are currently made to order and usually ships within 12-16 weeks. We ask if you have a time sensitive project please contact us through phone or email to speak to a customer service associate." So I patiently waited until October 28th, THIRTY ONE weeks later and asked for an update. Their response was: "This order is expected to ship by 11/03/22. We apologize for the delay." Ok, fantastic. Then nothing. No update. So I patiently waited until April 28th. 2023, TWENTY SIX more weeks, when I asked for another update. Their response was: "Door panels currently have an end of April/May ETA. If you do not want to leave an item on backorder please consider canceling and reordering when they become available. We apologize for the delay." So my only option is to cancel the order, that I paid up front for, FIFTY SEVEN weeks prior, and order again? It is now June and it has been 65 weeks since I ordered, paid in full, and was told a 12-16 week lead time. And every update that I receive, only after I contact them, is a lie. Not only is this horrible customer service, this is called deceptive business practices and is illegal in my state, and in the state that USA1 is located in. PARTICULARLY when payment is required up front. I don't want a refund, I want my damn door panels that I tied up $672.61 for, 65 weeks ago. So USA1, if you happen to be reading this, the North Carolina Attorney General's Office should be reaching out to you in the next week. Rant off. |
Re: USA1 Industries
If you don't ask for a refund, you are agreeing to the new terms and conditions. If you don't like the new terms and conditions, get a refund.
