Link didn't work out, Pat
This is always a good show. I've gone for most years it's been running. Good show meaning everything all around, people, variety of nice trucks, not judged, pleasant area, food there or ride out, and usually beautiful late September weather. |
Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.
Try it now Tim

Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.

Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.
Tristate ATHS committee is asking people to please pre register as soon as you can to allow the Ruritan club to be better able to calculate food and supply needs for Friday night and kitchen throughout weekend. This will be their first event for the year and we want to ensure they can turn a profit. This also allows the ladies at registration to have a little more space for social distancing at check in. thanks Pat66 Tristate-Truck Show Registration Link [tri-state-antiquetruckshow.com]

I like the little roadster pickup. It's a runner, and I mean hiway. Sounded good. Some newer 4-banger, maybe a Pinto motor? |

It was. Had it not rained Friday night, and chance called for all week, I believe it might have been a record year. It's a Thurs-Sat show. So it has a lot on Friday, which it did this year, then fills in all morning Saturday till trucks start rolling out in the afternoon.
How about a couple buses and start in on Dodges? The second bus is a Dodge. First is a Flxible, all redone motor coach style. It belongs to the owner of The Keystone Tractor & Truck Museum in Petersburg, VA. He was present and stayed in it. There will be more later |
Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.
315 trucks 320 was previous record, keep posting Tim as I was parking trucks and didn't get around Saturday,Pat

I'm sorry I couldn't remember the count. I knew it was looking like breaking the record but fell short. I guess that's how I managed to twist it into less than 300. I know this show is a consistent 300 truck show and this one was no exception. And this is no cruise-in. It's a lot of big trucks and 300 is a lot! The national shows hover around 1,000. So about 1/3 for a local/regional show is doing real good. This is a great show, great location, and proceeds go to local food bank. It helps the Ruritans as well. It's their grounds and they serve food. The grounds are flat, big area, and it stays firm if it rains. Usually the best weather ever being late September. Also, right off of Interstate 81, not far south of Interstate 70, not far north of Interstate 66, and not all that far north of Interstate 64, west of Interstate 95, or south of The PA Turnpike
Back to the Dodges |

Dodge City. This first one had a 6BT swapped-in. Not your usually swap, but it sounded right running out. All it needs for what it does these days. I finished this set with the Ford I left out earlier

Chain Drives. First one is an unrestored Hahn. I saw it running through the show, sounded good. Couldn't hardly hear it. Then Mack, then Autocar. That's it till later. More yet to come

Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.
A lot of impressive big Dodges showed up.
No 9500's again? |
Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.
Thanks for sharing the truck show photo's special K. I especially like the modern version of the old 5 hole Alcoa's on the Ford Louisville ( post 23 ), a must for the old school look!

Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.
Tyhank you very much for the pics, fantastic coverage of a big show!

No Bill, not a single 9500 of any configuration. I think there were 6 Big Horns
Yeah, I really like those alloy Budds, at least that's what I call them since they look just like steel Budds. That first Mack B I showed I thought had them, but those are steel with chrome-look paint. It seems the working trucks I have seen wearing those wheels were always Internationals, not lately but not so long ago. Maybe 15-20 year old models. I assumed they were an International wheel. They look just right on the Louisville. They'd look great on a GMC 9500. I have more to show now. I'll start off with Internationals, then Freightliner |

I'm going to stop segregating the makes and roll on through the rest. My eyes aren't good enough to tell looking at small tiles and it's time consuming. Let's get this done!

My bud ray Slagle owns that Brockway rollback. Last year his freshly restored '59 Autocar tractor was picked for the dash plaque this year. He didn't bring it because of the rain. I don't blame him. Ray is a man about details and it shows on every inch of that truck.

My friend, the one I rode to the show with, recently did that mural work on this Peterbilt. I should have gotten a picture across the back. The owner hauls a dairy tanker to supply a local creamery that got started up not so many years ago. They have brought back door to door delivery and are doing well. That creamery is the subject of the mural... www.southmountaincreamery.com

Last pictures. I saved one of the finest for last, Ancient Iron is it's name. I hope you enjoyed the trucks. I like to look back at these show threads over the winter to fight boredom. I hope others might find that a good thing, too

Nice group of Mack's, Brockway's, Pete's and KW's as well. I am on the lookout for a 9500. Needs to be local though. Great pictures as mentioned. |
Re: 16th Annual Tri-state Antique truck Show.
Thanks Tim, people are going to regret missing this show, Pat. Hopefully good turnout for ATHS Harrisonburg in June.
