1967-1972 Chev-GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual

Hello everyone,

I retired on Dec 1, 2021, which has allowed me to work on my truck more, as well as some other truck related projects. This posting falls under the “other truck related projects”. You may remember that I converted and posted a link to the PDF “1965-75 chev and gmc truck - light duty parts catalogue” in pCloud early last year: 1965-75 Chevy and GMC truck - light duty parts catalogue - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network (67-72chevytrucks.com) .

This year I have converted a new file to share:

1967-1972 Chev-GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual

This includes an integrated INDEX that various forum members have been working on for a long time (started by “Ackattack” on July 1, 2009 titled “Assembly Manual Index”)!

https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?c...EYkxaqom92OUWy

I converted the file to “recognizable text” because it allows you to click on “edit” then “find” so you can search the PDF for a part #, a name of a part, etc., AND you can keep clicking on the “next” button to jump to the next item found! Note: You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader for the “Find” function to work.

I do not seek any monetary gain; my ONLY desire is to make this information resource available to forum members for personal use - my contribution to all the great information I’ve used on this website as well as a thank you to all the members who have helped me with obtaining parts.

I added the words “NOT FOR SALE – PERSONAL USE ONLY” as a watermark on the left edge so that all the pages would be readable (unobstructed) and restricted (password) to ensure no changes can be made to the PDF.

The links above will take you to pCloud for you to download and save to your computer, USB, external hard drive - basically where ever you want to store it, be patient, it may take a while.

Enjoy !

That's very nice of you to do! And having written a few miles of FORTRAN code, I can appreciate that you don't want your work poached. Since my work was defense related, I don't have to worry (TOO much) about it being poached.

I just used it! The searchable feature is a huge time saver.
Can't believe the difference between it and endless paging through my manual manually.
Thanks again.
I really appreciate your work and it had to be a lot.

I'm happy this PDF is going to be used and possibly save someone time. As of this morning the download count was just shy of 100!

If anyone has a better description to provide on the index pages just let me know. I'll collect them for a year, make corrections and then release Version 2. By then I'll have it so you can click on the description and/or page # within the index to take you directly to where you want (hopefully, fingers crossed).

Getter-Done,

Most people have their computer set to the default setting to place anything they've download via the internet into the "Downloads" folder. Open any folder you have, look over to the left side, under "This PC" you'll see the folder, just click on it and then you'll see all the files you've downloaded. I've blotted out (yellow) the files I've downloaded.

Can't thank you enough, I have always been hesitant to try to look anything up in that 'assembly manual' because it was so random and didn't have an index. You have made it much more useful!

Now, I want everyone to take a close look at page 808 and tell me what is wrong with that picture!

A big THANK YOU!

And, the same to all those who put the time into the Contents pages! I have used it to search for the possible pages many times.

Since posting the link to the "1967-1972 Chev-GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual" it has been downloaded 3440 times! I'm glad people enjoy it. No use to me anymore because I've sold my 72 Cheyenne Super, my 1995 Twin Turbo Supra (both on BAT) and bought a 2022 Platinum iMax Tundra, 2022 BMW X5 and a 1993 Mustang notchback 5.0, 5spd (27K orig miles). I think I'm settled in for a while. I'll keep hosting the file as long as it keeps getting downloaded.

Thanks for continuing to host the manual Ron.

If the membership payment is a PayPal payment you have to go to PayPal and stop the automatic payment option. It will be the one to Joshua Brady. I don't remember what his PayPal username is.

Hello all, I was searching through this document after downloading and noticed that a handful of pages are missing. I was looking for page 200 but the manual I downloaded goes from 191 to 238. In between those pages is one that is complete gibberish. Does anybody else's manual look the same at those pages?

I just scrolled through mine from the download and it has all the pages mentioned. I would suggest another download and name it differently so the computer doesn't repeat the same mistake.

Of course the computer 'experts' try to blame the operator cuz they 'know' that computers don't make mistakes!

Today was the first time I've had need to refer to the assembly manual here - and I see why you guys are struggling.

The pages are missing all of the title block information!

They should have the UPC location, as well as layout number and revision levels and such.

If a person is somewhat fluent in the engineering specifications language then they should be able to find their way around (although even then it is clunky).

I'm going from memory here, but

.....UPC 1 = body
.....UPC 2 = frame
.....UPC 3 = Front axle
.....UPC 4 = rear axle
.....UPC 5 = brakes
.....UPC 6 = engine
.....UPC 7 = trans
etc

Tire and wheel get a section, and front end sheet metal, and radiator support. Labels and literature gets a section.

Something like that. They go from zero to 14 or 15.

I say all that to say: no wonder! And - nice save, making your own index!

I was looking for something else and came across this:

This is what the factory index would look like -

https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...p;d=1703114892

https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...p;d=1703114909

I think you can see if a person knew the appropriate UPC you can home in pretty quickly on the area of interest.

Body, Engine and Electrical were tough regardless because there were so huge -
