Are we ready for another "junkyard crawl"?

5 Attachment(s)
Did my yearly "get out of the snow" trip down to oklahoma and texas like normal. Weather was great the whole trip other than dry and windy. No break downs... found some new yards to explore. Roads were good both ways. Put on about 3300 miles in 9 days. Hung out with some truck guys and looked at lots of stuff. Went to decatur Texas swap meet, but didn't find much there. Onward with pics...

Met up with Don from the truck board here and picked up my new column which looks great. Sent him home with a bunch of tilts for rebuilding also. Always nice to meet up with board members. We met at LMC which wasn't very impressive at the moment.

Most all of the trucks i am seeing have been sitting for many years and are quite picked over. Still fun for me. LOTS of patina on that one roof!

Remember, these trucks can't find themselves, so get out there and do your part! I can't do it alone.

And the last for now. I have a lot of pics on my phone this year, but its a pain to load them here 1 at a time.
I thought long and hard about bringing the longhorn home, but the no title thing made the choice easier.
And a few pics of some junk i brought home.
Hope you enjoyed another crawl with me.

Do you ever run across rust free doors without trim? I am in need of a set. Willing to drive or pay shipping to get them.

Man, I need to find that blue truck that still has the upper trim on it. I could use some of that stuff!

I don't really find anything "rust free" anymore. I usually grab doors if i can but even they are not perfect.

Tom myers in miami OK had the trim you need inside his big building. Not sure if it was GM or aftermarket.

Glad you enjoy. I have opportunities to pick up lwb upper trim once in a while, but its hard to haul that far without it getting damaged...

I don't mind a junkyard crawl as long as it is NOT AI generated

Wow. That is an impressive junk yard. So much as I feel bad calling it that. I see a lot of parts I need sitting around there!

I think that is 3 different yards i was at between Oklahoma and N Texas. there are still good parts out there, but it is getting to be more slim pickings by the year.

Did you get a close look at that first 69 cab? I'm looking for a decent 69 saddle gold and white cab with patina like this to swap my short bed with.
