Front seat belt retractors hanging up

I have a 2001 that will lock up the seat belts sometime and not let you lean forward. Any ideas? Or fixes? Jim

I have a 2000 GMC 2500 with cloth that will do the same thing, only on the passenger seat...???

Yes, passenger side gives the most trouble. I had a 2002 and it had the same problem. J

inertial wheel might be jacked up. i'd just buy a replacement inertial wheel and install it.
