:welcome2: and why not design your own? :gi:

I used to build boxes for a local shop back in the early 90's,
not all subs are created equal, I'm sure you knew that, but
it is really up to the space your willing to give up, does your
Blazer have a rear seat? how many subs? ported? sealed?

:fb:

Re: Blazer subwoofer box help!!!!

Yeah I am going to run a back seat and I am thinking I want the box to be as wide as the back seat. I have 4 audiobahn 10's but I am only going to use 2. I would love to see what others have done.
Thanks, Kade

I'm sure you will get some pic's, are you gonna run the top on or off?
No matter which way I would NOT fire them up, it looks very cool but
it will sound like crap w/ or w/out the top on, fire forward, reverse if
the top will always be on, this of course is JMHO, and my $.02, cya ;)

Yeah I want to fire foward, and I am going to run the top off most of the time. I appreciate the $.02 cents.
Thanks, Kade

Re: Blazer subwoofer box help!!!!

Sorry, no pics of any blazer sub boxes. I haven't seen too many on the board with extensive stereo systems in their rigs on this board. Mostly because Blazers really aren't very secure. Also, they are noisy so a lot of the quality sound gets lost in the exhaust, rattles, tire hum, etc.

What I have seen usually envolves side panel with subs built into them. There is a thread on the 67-72 truck message board about custom kick panels so you can get more sound up front where you'll be driving.

Re: Blazer subwoofer box help!!!!

I have put dynamat from front to back and even on the bed sides to reduce road noise and all the other. I already have the kick panels with speakers. I bought a 2000 watt power acustic amp to push the 10's and I am just going to bolt it to the floor under the rear seat so nobody will walk off with it. I think I will bolt down the sub box also. Got to get all this done so the interior shop can get to work on the custom interior. I will post some pics of the blazer when I have it out the next time. It is a 72 with a 68 nose, 402BB,turbo 400,ac,late model buckets with console out of a tahoe, 88 suburban rear seat, 20 inch torq thrusts front and rear. Thanks for the info guys.

Re: Blazer subwoofer box help!!!!

CK5.com has an audio section in their message boards. You might check over there for ideas. Most of the members over there have later model K5's but the idea is still the same.

Sounds like you have a 2wd Blazer! There are many envious board members here. I myself would love to have a 2wd Blazer, in addition to my '72 4wd of course. I thought about converting my '69, but time and money aren't on my side so it is going to a new home...

I'll look through my blazer picture collections and see if I find anything interesting. I won't have any specs though, just pictures.

Pictures of your rig are definately in order!

Yeah it's a 2wd, I bought it from a guy in atlanta who had it listed on ebay back in november. I am in the process of getting it the way I want it. I will have it out Sat and I will take some pictures and post them.
Thanks for the info.
