590 H.P
I built a couple of 496's a few years ago and one of them was real similar to yours with the exception of intake and carb ( victor jr and 950 h.p holley ) it made 620 H.P Congrats on the new engine. |

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
Sorry, one more question, what headers? Diameter and length if you have both.
|
Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
Hooker headers, long tube, 2" primary, 3 1/2 collector.

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
I set the cam on an intake center of 108 since I could not find an advertised ICL.
I used a primary tube length of 30" for the header. I used a generic Dualplane intake since there is no airgap in my program. I used 91 Octane and a running temp of 165* 616ftlbs @ 4,400rpm 589hp @ 5,500rpm FYI.. Moving from a 108icl to a 106 or even a 110 did not show much change. |

Marv, I used stock clearences, stock windage etc. So it might be a little conservative. With out knowing all the details, I tried to error on the low side.

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
What program are you running?
|
Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
We ran a BBC on a super flow dyno with steel RHS heads and a solid roller that's in the .660's for lift with dual 750's it put up all most 700 HP.
You have a very nice head and comp ratio. MY W.A.G is 640HP |

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
I don't know if you have done the Dyno experience but if you haven't it's cool. *I did it when we finished my motor and glad I did. *
