Pics of your 2 inch ez ride tuff country lift? 67-72 k20 long box

Post pics of your 67-72 with 2 in. Ez ride lift

I'm building this truck to drive everyday and use as a TRUCK. So I will be hauling things on occasion, heaviest would be pulling a car/trailer or my buddies mud truck on a trailer. Maybe once a year if I'm lucky. The primary use however will be daily driving the truck. Do they sag a ton under load? Do you guys like your lift? Does it ride nice? Gas shocks or hydro? Can I get away with buying springs and not using the higher steering arm since its only 2 inch? Do rear ez springs ride better than oem with the reverse spring perch?

Clears 33's fine like this, how about 35's for future endeavors?

I know it's no Cadillac.. But if I can do something to make it ride better I will!

Oh and of course, where are they sold cheapest at?

Thanks

Nick

You might have better luck in the 4x4 part of the forum.

Here's my ck20 with what I think is a 4" lift and 35's. The PO installed it with a body lift and stacked blocks in the back. I removed the small block and left the 4" block and removed the body lift, not much room left.

This is a daily driven work and play truck that i use for hauling, towing, and playing in the back woods a bit.

2" TC EZ ride springs all around with an extra 1" lift block on the rear and top mounted overload springs. 255/85r16's are about 33x10.

Without the overloads the EZ rides sag very easy but they ride better than the HD's. It's kind of the sacrafice you'll have to deal with. Mine with the aftermarket overloads are not set too tight so i found a happy medium.

I tried the hydraulic shocks and they did not offer the support i wanted. Heavy gas shocks were very stiff and bouncy. I found the lightest gas shock i could and it's as good as i could get for the money i think.

I have cleared 35's (315/75r16) on 8" wide wheels but i do have the front buckets cut off. Im sure at full suspension articulation while turned the tires will contact the cups.

Stiif and bouncy with the gas shocks? Perhaps that is my problem as I find my 2" TC lift a litle harsh and definately bouncy. I have 2" block in the rear in addition to the TC springs. i forgot, the tires are 33"

edit again, weird how high my truck is compares to the others. I did check the part numbers on the springs and they matched the listing numbers in the TC catalog. I do have some bump steer so I'm going to try a raised steering arm.

The heaviest set of gas shocks were stiff and bouncy, but not the lightest pair which i now have. I don't remember who made this set that i have now on all four corners but they are nothing special. Quite cheap actually. I bet they are supplied by TC but it's been too long to remember.

Yes -- with 2" front springs, you do not need to change the steering arm from stock. You do need longer front shocks though, and stock rear shocks are the right length up front with 2" - 2.5" front springs.

So this is 4in springs and then stock rear springs with 4 in blocks?

Its not you most forums have a general suspension then subs like street then 4x4.Most of us are use to it being the way it is.But we do have great admins they will move stuff where it will get the best answers.

Well, that's what the guy I bought the truck from said. It is all sprin up front and 4" blocks in the rear. From what I have read, 35's will fit with a 4" lift, you just need to limit your rough country driving.
Mine looks like that's the case.

I have a 2" lift springs front and back on my 1970 K20. They are from Skyjacker. Here are pics unloaded and with 1000 lbs. of bricks loaded from the rear axle backwards.

Here is mine with TC EZ ride 2" in front / 3" rear with 33" tires. The ride is definitely rougher than before.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=17966

Hey TJ:

Love the look of your truck! Did you encounter any problems installing these springs into your truck? I am trying to achieve a similar look on my 70' 2WD C20 to assist in my entering and exiting the cab (I am tall).

Did you just buy and install the springs? Or were other modifications required?

Please let me know. Thanks!

Jahloha, FYI, 4x4 use leaf springs in the front and your C20 uses coils.

It's easy to get several inches of lift or more with leaf springs. Coil spring suspension, not so much.

Dav:

So my 70' C20 has coils on all four ends? For some reason, I thought I had leafs in the back.

Re: Pics of your 2 inch ez ride tuff country lift? 67-72 k20 long box

3/4 ton (C20) should have leafs in the rear. You can raise the rear with blocks, flip shackles, different leaf springs or a combination of the above.

2WD trucks will have independent coil springs in the front. Stronger springs or spacers are probably the only way to lift the front. 4WD have leafs in the front.

No problems and no other modifications. I used the stock Pitman arm so the steering center shifts about 1/4 turn of the wheel. I couldn't find a Pitman arm for a 2" lift.

This is my friend Buds K20. He installed the softride 2.5 inch lift all around. Wheels are Wheel Vintiques 16x8. Not sure on tire size though.

This was mine at one time and he is making a lot of upgrades. Got rid of the 4sp and put in an auto-overdrive, might be 700R4. Tilt wheel. And I think he is moving or has moved the tank from the cab.

He is a member here but barely ever posts ... cant remember his board name. Sorry Buddy =)

Man that paint looks a lot like mine did...once...

To compare with my BDS 4" lift and ORD shackles which add 1/2" and 33" BFG's
