compression for a LS 1

What kind of compression should a 1999 LS 1 have? I have a couple of cylinders that have 100 and 105lbs, thinking about pulling motor and replacing it.

If you don't get an answer here I check with the folks over on LS1tech.com.

"Blower cam" ?

Any long duration cams will drop initial compression pressure.

"Normal" numbers would be around 160 to 175 with no more than a 30% variation between highest and lowest numbers.

Figures of 100 to 105 etc should really be subject to a leak down test before making any rebuild decisions.

On my LT1, I had over 150psi on all cylinders with a BTR Stage II camshaft.
If your compression is low it's a 90% chance refreshing the heads will fix it.
A decent Lt1 will bring about $2500 in my area. Worth repairing if it's the heads.
