Engine placement

Do you have to move the engine forward so the valve cover doesnt hit the firewall?

Re: Engine placement

The motor mounts where they bolt to the frame can be moved to the next set of holes so the valve cover fits. You have a 6 cylinder? Only mentioned a valve cover singular?

Re: Engine placement

I have an LT engine, not an LS, but the dimensions are about the same. I had to move it forward 1.75", which was the next set of holes on the adapter plates. This gave me about 1" of room behind the valve covers. It worked well with the 6l trans as the tailshaft was almost in exactly the same place as the TH400 and I had to shorten the driveshaft 3/4".

'65 C10 with LS1 and I had to move my mounts to the furthest forward set of holes to allow for firewall clearance.

65 C10 with 5.3 Gen IV. I have the adapter plates with 4 positions and I'm in the 3rd position away from the firewall.
