Does it have a jump seat on the passenger side? How cool!

I hope you keep that Wurden Fire Dept. emblem on it :)

Yes the jump seat folds down to make a bench like seat as well.
It looks like it was used as an ambulance as well.
I am probably going with the Fire dept. lettering again when finished which is quite a ways off for paint.

Do you have a front saddle mount for the 283?

Hi John, No I am using 67-72 mounts on the side. Already removed the front mount, makes it easier down the line if I decide to do a 355. Have lots of parts from the race car that may get used later on. We run a super gas car when we are not rebuilding old trucks. Right now the only racing is with one of the teams kids Jr. Drag race.

OK, those are better yet. I didn't know what parts you had to work with but it sounds like you have some parts plus a bit of experience as well.

Got the motor mounts done. Dident like the idea of putting the 1" block under the top support to the frame so we did a little remodeling, 2 notches out of the side at the bends and bend together after a few fitting trys welded it back together cut off the top bolt holes and made new holes. Fits great and looks original I will get some installed pictures in later we want to try and put the engine in today hopefully.

I had a 73-81 Blazer tank in my 65 Suburban several years ago. I fit perfect in the original home. I just had to modify the filler tube a little, and find a fuel guage that would work with it.

What kind of fuel gauge did you end up with?
That is basically what I am doing.
Added a crossmember to adjust where the supports go an fits perfect.

Thought we could put the engine in today but ran into a snag.
The Novak hydraulic clutch slave cylinder setup needs to have a long throw out bearing so I need to get that before putting the engine in as we want to adjust it on the floor.

I never got a gauge put in. I knew how far I could go on a tank so would fill it before it ran out. The 73-81 use a different ohm than the stock. I tried to use a gauge from those years and cut down the backing but didn't work. As far as the support, I actually removed on to fit the tank in. I will try to find the pic of it in, from underneath and post it later.

Interesting to see the original tank. Mine had a curved tank to make room for the spare tire. But the shipping company butchered that one.

My spare is laying on the floor inside. I have a bracket that screws to the sidewall when I don't have the big 2nd seat in. It's something the original owner made.
