1979 GMC, color of dash pad with Camel int.

Has anyone figured out what the matching color is for a 1979 GMC dash pad in a Camel colored interior? I bought a new pad from USA1 in Camel, but it is too light. I thought I could live with it, but no. I want to re-color it to original color. I've used SEM Camel 15173 for door panels, but the original pad is darker. Photos show the USA1 lighter colored pad, the original pad, and a SEM Camel door panel.

USA1 Camel is the correct color. I have used both the USA1 and SEM, there is a difference in the shade. But the USA1 color is spot on, I’ve used it on the belts and seat garnishes. It’s a perfect match with the dash. Now the owner of this truck, sprayed the door panels with the SEM and you can see it isn’t a match with the seat, belts or dash pad. He talked to me about it, and come to find out they used SEM on the panels. They maybe the same name, Camel, but they are not the same shade.
Check your seatbelts with the new dash. I would bet they are a closer match to your USA1 dash. My suggestion would be to get the dye from USA1 and redo your door panels. The owner of the truck in the photo is going to do the same. He realized that the SEM is not the correct shade once he got the interior together. |

I found that the USA1 75-76 Saddle interior dye is a good match to the original 1979 dash pad color. Here are the results.
