restore a blazer K5 and change it to 2 wheel drive
Hi,
I need member expertise... The plan is to put a body of a K5 Blazer (4WD)on a C10 long bed cutted frame(2WD)? I want to do a 1972 C5/Blazer... because I can't find one for a good price... Question #1: Is the frame over the rear axle, is the same shape for both (C10 and K5)? I'm planning to put the cab box bracket from the frame of the K5 on the C10... Question #2: Wheel base of K5 is 104 po. and C10 lwb is 127 po... if I cut the frame in the straight section 23" off like they do in the brother`s truck conversion kit LWB to SWB, is it ok? Plus extra cut on the rear end of the frame to fit the bumper... Does I'm doing right? |

not sure why there isn't any direct information on the truck frame to 2wd blazer conversion. I've been looking through old threads for weeks

Why not convert the existing frame to 2wd?
I did one with the help of Liverat a few years ago, and I know he has done several.. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=327847 More pics with better views of the frame and how we converted it to a bagged C/5 using stock front 2wd crossmember, and trailing arm rear.. https://www.flickr.com/photos/hiking...10765391/page1 |
