Clean Original Paint 1969 C-10

This truck was bought new in Pasco, WA (dry part of the state) and has stayed local its entire life. I bought the truck from the 2nd owner who had the truck since the early 70’s. This truck had a camper on it for most of its life which is why the truck doesn’t have much for rust and I believe the miles to be original. This is an original truck with no aftermarket parts, aside from the drivetrain and chassis parts, Quality OEM parts have been refurbished or sourced to replace any parts. Such as the rear view mirror, it has been “re-silvered” and the side mirrors have the original bracket that bolt to the factory bracket inside the door.

A nicely preserved 1969 C-10 long bed, very straight body & original paint. Original 350 was replaced and rebuilt at some point with a 4 bolt 350 (72 date code, verified 4 bolt main). Freshly rebuilt turbo 350, new u-joints and carrier bearing, new battery, battery cables, Edelbrock performer intake, HEI, power steering, power brakes, factory A/C truck (haven’t tried running AC) rebuilt front suspension with 6 lug discs up front, new shocks on all 4, new brake lines, new brake booster, new master cylinder etc. Aluminum radiator, engine has been completely resealed with felpro gaskets, 993 & 487 heads have been rebuilt, alternator has been upgraded to a 10SI alternator(internally regulated) rebuilt Q-Jet with divorced choke, choke is not hooked up. Headlights have relays installed on the harness so they are significantly brighter than stock.

Powder coated GM steel wheels with correct hub caps and new tires. Original radio delete cowl panel and delete plate in cab. Aftermarket clamp on bumper guards. Truck still has the original paint which has been polished out, the body is very straight however it’s not perfect, no major dents. Doesn’t have much for rust, passenger side floor board at seam between firewall and floor board has a cancer rust spot, kick panels has some rust, inner rocker panels have a rust line at the corner on the top, passenger side front fender under the battery has a couple pinholes, Cab supports and cab corners are solid. Original paint in the bed, tailgate is original (see post further down) . All gauges work, interior is very nice as well. Steering wheel has cracks in the normal spots, a cover will clean it up. Dash pad has one crack about where the shifter handle is.

Cons:
- Rear axle in my opinion needs rebuilt and I have an axle to go with the truck.
-choke is not hooked up to Quadra-Jet
-hood hinges should be rebuilt
-rear step bumper has a rust hole on the step below the H & E on tailgate
-license plates and floor mats do not come with the sale

Overall a nice cruiser. Asking $15,000 located in Kennewick, WA

When an unknown phone number calls you, it might be good to answer. In my case it was the previous owner of the truck asking if I wanted the original tailgate, she found it when the garage was cleaned out (which looked like a hoarders mess). She said the tailgate had been removed and stored inside shortly after purchasing the truck when new, which sparked the conversation of my misunderstanding of who the original owner was and how the truck changed hands within the family through the years.

I’m updating this post with pictures of THE original tailgate, it has a couple small paint chips and light scratches on the back. It’s pure luck to find the missing piece and completes this truck.

Here’s another picture of the tailgate, notice how it’s straight and not bent. It shuts like a dream.

I also added a “Sport-Grip” steering wheel in the appropriate blue color.
