Outer rocker issue

I am doing new outer rockers and they seem to be longer then the doors. The body lines don’t match there about a 1/2 inch or more longer. I’ve bought from 2 different company’s and are the same. Is this normal if so what’s the fix to get the gaps consistent

Repop body sheet metal panels are always suspect.
There’s no end to the nightmares of fitment issues.
I’m repairing some rust on my Rocker Panels with patches, instead of cutting out the originals. I posted a thread about this about two weeks ago, and received some great advice from the experts.

Re: Outer rocker issue

I had a bodyshop put new repos on my 67 cab 10 years ago without checking door fitment and they were the same back then. Good metal guy could fix it i guess. I was so mad when they returned it to me and I couldn't get the fender on square. This time I bought nos ones (and a much better metal guy). Pretty pricey but they fit nicely. Less money spent on metal guys hours.

I bought the outer rockers for my 70 C10 from Southwest Classics in Arlington Tx. They were a perfect fit.

I thought the first ones I put in where a perfect fit until I started trying to fit and align everything. The repops are a mess I had to buy a repop door at first I thought it was great until fenders and door latch install it’s in the scrap bin now

JC,

Measure your rocker and compare it to the old one. When you remove the rocker, if your cab corner is loose or even if its not, the corner will sometimes move in. The last cab did that and when you fit the rocker back in, it popped back out to where it needs to be.

If you havent seen my youtube channel I have quite a few outer rocker videos that might help you. Let me know if I can help - cheers.
