Heater fuse..how many amps??

I took my heater fuse out a while back cause hte fan kept running. Well now it is getting cold and I want to replace it and fix it but I can't remmebr how many amps it was. Anyone know?

This is on a '73 K20.

The blower motor fuse should be a 20 amp. I wish GM would have made the "off" position shut off the blower motor instead of leaving it on low. Stupid that we have to modify or totally disconnect it just to kill the hot trickle of air for summer.

Thank you. That also confirms it for me that the heater will still remain on when in the off position.

There's a how to somewhere around here about clipping a wire on the lowest setting on the switch to be off instead of low. I think I'll end up doing that this summer since my AC will be back to functional this year.

Unless your ac is a completely separate system, you may be shooting yourself in the foot.
(blower works with the AC too ;))

Seems to me, in the old days, we'd find a way to kill the water to the heater core. Fan would still circulate the air, but no excess heat.

True, I'll probably bypass the heater core in summer too. I just hate that GM didn't have an OFF setting.
