Anybody run the Rosta of DD cruise on their swap?
I bought the Rosta Cruise Control kit, but cannot seem to get it to work. I checked the part numbers and they seem to be different between the 2 kits, although many said they were the same.
I am getting the voltage in/out, but it won't engage. The LED in the back is not lit either. Whether that is for the DD version only, I am not sure. |

I think I figured out the issue. I am guessing the voltages for input/output to the pedal are incorrect. |

Defiantly interested in cruise control with the L83 swap. One of the last things I want to get working on mine too, but use the factory switch, and not theirs...
If you work it out, let us know how it works for you. clint |

You can use the factory switch. The problem is the voltage. The unit requires 4v on both pins, but the pedal requires 4v on one pin and 2 on the other. The Dakota Digital unit uses the same 4/2v set-up. They tell me theirs will work. I might have to go down that path.

WOOHOO! I finally got the cruise working! A bit harder than I originally anticipated, but it does work well.

The easiest thing to do is buy the Dakota Digital CRC-1000 cruise control. All the wires match up and you will have it working in a few hours. It is that easy to plug-n-play.
Unfortunately, I was told the Rostra kit cruise control and the DD are the same. Yes, the actual box with the electronics is the same, but everything else is different. I basically had to rewire the Rostra cruise to match the DD kit. The two kits use different plugs and a different set-up. The Rostra works fine if you have a newer vehicle running the complete canbus/brake system from OEM. The DD kit uses your brake switch (and clutch if you have a stick), and a few other variables to make the cruise work. I thought I could save almost $200 by going with Rostra, but all said and done, I was probably about $50 ahead with no warranty. |
