Anyone Running FRONT Radius Arms?

Decided to go with 10" coilovers from Fox on my 4wd conversion...

Only going with 4 or 6" Lift and no serious off road action....crew cab dually.

I have both 4 link and radius arm options.

Which and why?

Thx

Re: Anyone Running FRONT Radius Arms?

A radius arm axle tends to have a more torsion bar type action as opposed to a four link which will be looser on the articulation movement. The radius arm setup also changes pinion angle and caster quite a bit more through travel over the 4 link. On the 4 link pinion angle and caster remains fairly constant. Was looking at radius arm from Blitzkrieg as well as 4 link by ORD. I chose the four link over the radius arm myself. Am running a sway bar as well which is added cost.

I appreciate the response.

The reason the radius arm setup attracts my attention is the simple nature of it.

Plus I am NOT gonna do any real off roading

I have some Fords with the factory radius arm front suspension and based on how they ride (nice) and the fact you will be using it primarily on the road I would go radius arms all the way. Panhard needs to be parallel with steering arm and caster at 5% or so and you’re good.

Radius arms will most likely work for you and would have been fine for me. Maybe even without a sway bar. The 4 link was probably more fab work but that is mostly just time for me. I have a higher lift height and wanted to keep link bars or arms flatter. They have to be longer to achieve that. Four link kit allowed for custom length. Flatter bars equal a better ride and road manners. Final deciding factor for me was the radius arm kit I was looking at would have ended up costing more money in the end.

I ended up going radius arms and got the angle at 2* at ride height. 7* of caster. Crossover steering bar and Panhard bar at 1*. If anyone wants to see pics, I can post a few.

That’s a hell of a bad ass build! I wish 12 valves hadn’t got so expensive over the last 10 years or so. Really nice work!

Nice! Was that a kit? How is the ride compared to stock?

Sorta. The radius arm kit came from WFO Concepts. The crossover, Panhard bar, and shock towers came from RuffStuff Specialties.

It rides AMAZING. Better than when the truck was still 2wd.

Very nice! I've really been considering using some Dodge D60s to take advantage of the coil springs.
