Cab corner speaker effectiveness
I have seen a lot of people putting speakers in there cab corners. To me this seams like a position that would not allow the sound to get out. For those who have done this addition, my question is how happy are you with the sound quality?

Re: Cab corner speaker effectiveness
For the 73-87 trucks, there was a factory bracket set for 4x10 speakers that fit in the cab corners. I put a set in my 75 with some middle of the road speakers. Sound is OK. If you are after portable earthquake sound levels, you will be disappointed. If you want a decent stereo upgrade over the single center of dash speaker then they are good.
I think someone on this forum makes or used to make a set of boxes for 6x9 that fit the corners. |

It's like eating spinach, it'll serve its purpose but it's not very appetizing. I tried some high quality speakers and used the brackets, installed dyno mat sound dampening, amp, etc. It lasted about two weeks and out they came. If you like music, there are better options, but everything has tradeoffs. |
Re: Cab corner speaker effectiveness
I wonder if it would help to angle the speakers upward.
