First Engine Crank

Technically this isn't my very first engine crank (261 cu in - inline six) since I had to get the magneto and TDC aligned. This engine was rebuilt over a decade ago and only started to keep the cylinders oiled and never up to any temp. I was concerned about it even being able to start, but in the end, this was a success.

I now think I hear a valve tap. What is the lash or clearance that I should find on the rockers/valves?

That sounds pretty good. I thought I was hearing a V8 at first.

Wow, that's good to hear, thanks. Nope, its just a 1959 Chevy 261 cu in inline six engine with a McCulloch supercharger from a 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk. Still needs some tuning but runs every time I turn the key or use the remote starter button, which is an immense relief since it hasn't been run in a very very long time.

Was wondering what that lump with an air filter was.
And having dealt with a custom supercharger setup, and what it entails....that thing is going to rock.
My hat's off to you, sir.

Thanks! Here is another photo of the supercharger and the Vertex magneto (the blinking red light in the video is a hall effect sensor on the mag that send the correct number of pulse to the electronic tach.

Also, just finished the interior and had to include a shot of it too.

Gotta love it when a plan comes together.

And I love the attention to detail and how clean all that looks.
