WTB 65-66 12-bolt rear axle

Looking for a 65-66 C-10 2wd rear axle. Open or Posi. Not picky on gear size. In the Midwest would be best but open to shipping

I assume you are wanting 30 spline axles, thus the 65-66? Do you know if there is anyway to identify this without pulling the shafts out? I just bought a truck bed trailer that has a 12 bolt but it could be a 63 or 64. Might be a bit of drive for you also.

FYI, the '65 to early '70 truck 12 bolts are all the same.

The '63 & '64 truck 12 bolts had the panhard bar mount on the passenger side axle tube. The '65-'72's had the panhard bar mount on the upper right of the center section.

When did they widen them 1 1/2''? 1971?
I have the relocated panhard bar and will have to move the trailing arm mounts.

I just cant find one. It's driving me nuts I know they are around lol

I bought one locally and trusted the guy it was good got it home and opened it and it's junk even the carrier. He said he has another one and will exchange it but will never met up.... Sorry guys had to vent..Thanks for the help

I think the only way is to open the back cover and count the splines. I may have to drive sure can't find a good one up here lol. Would you ship? Thanks

I have not looked to see what year it is yet. As for shipping, I'd rather not. I'm not even sure how and shipping would likely be more than I'd want for the axle. Looked like it was about 7 hours each way from there to here. Try www.car-part.com Looks like there are several a lot closer:

If you strike out there I would also considering buying an entire parts truck. If you can pick one up for $500 or so, you would still be ahead of driving several hundred miles and can sell/scrap whatever is left that you don't want.

The width increased 1.5" in late 1970.

A couple years ago I scrapped a couple perfectly good 12 bolts. I can't sell them around here unless they are a 3.73 posi and then you'd be lucky to get $100 for it.

I have a nice one on a 65 frame. I powder coated the frame and axle redid everything................it's been sitting in my field almost rolling frame for 8 years.

had a cheap chrome cover on it, now it is a cheaper rust cover! Really nice rear suspen, lwb frame and control arms with new control arm bushings and new , uncovered, no rubber boot ball joints and factory rear coil, really nice trailing arms

Shipping might be a killer but email me and i can send pix SCJKOVACH@AOL.COM

thanks,
Steve

I have one for $150 . For now I am going to say local pickup. Shipping almost always kills the deal.

I also have a posi from a 67 which would be a little more.

I have to go to Des Moine and Minneapolis area in a couple weeks and could throw it on . Still quite a ways from your location.

Thanks

I have one from a 65. I pulled it out of my 65 and swapped in a 72 model 5 lug. I will take $150 local pickup

Thanks everyone for the help. I will try the Car-parts.com website since they seem to be the closest possibility right now

When will you be up this way? If the car-parts.com doesn't pan out I may take you up on meeting in Des Moine

If you could get it shipped for 250 I would be all for it. Would you take 200 for the posi?
