My name is Ben and i am sure some of you have seen these pics before but i was wondering what everyone thought of a truck choped and slammed like this pic?
|
Re: Chop Tops ???
Slammed = ...ok
Chop = no |
Re: Chop Tops ???
I agree on no chop
ive only seen it done once where i liked it dropped the roof 4 1/2 inches angled back the a pillars dropped the bed top down 3 inches and brought the wheel arches down 3 inches so it all looked in proportion but that probably more work than you want to do |

I like chopped trucks but that one is too much for me.... 2 or 2 1/2" would be my max. I also like them better with the "A" pillars cut, not leaned back. Just my 2¢ worth... LockDoc |
Re: Chop Tops ???
choping in my opinion is for the out doorsman or the braves.

if done right, it can look bad ass. I generaly go for the stock body... restomod if you will... but sometimes, you see one that just works.
Besides... it's a longhorn. So it's gonna be cool no matter what. ;) (talkin about the one in this reply) |
Re: Chop Tops ???
chop is not really needed on these trucks, just drop it:metal:
|
Re: Chop Tops ???
I vote for Lowering.
Vote no for chopping. s/t |
Re: Chop Tops ???
UGLY for chop top!!!!!!
|
Re: Chop Tops ???
Chop - :barf:
Slammed - OK I have only ever seen one chop on these trucks that I like. It was in the Projects section, but I can't for the life of me find it. It was very subtle, and the body was completely wire wheeled, just shiney metal. Dang, now I really want to find that thread!! |

Re: Chop Tops ???
I think so. I don't remember if this was the one that the top of the hood opened or not though. I remember that mod, just can't remember if it was the same truck. I do remember lots of pics taken in the shop (large shop), and there were some taken outside on the grass. But yeah, shaved, slammed, I think a 67-68 front, maybe even a different dash altogether?

Re: Chop Tops ???
I have only seen 1 chop EVER that I liked...several drops though.
Here's the chop: http://www.highgearhotrods.com/gallery/fgallery1-12.jpg Here's how: http://www.highgearhotrods.com/Retro...rodmarch08.pdf DLB |

My votes: Lowered = yes. Slammed = no. Chopped = no.
Only chop I've ever seen that looked "right" to me was this one, the Dale Earnhardt memorial show truck. Have to look twice, just to be sure it was really-really cut, the proportions are so well done. |
Re: Chop Tops ???
And dont you dare make the doors open that way.
|
Re: Chop Tops ???
I like being able to sit up straight but hey it's your truck.

I know, I know It looks like it is pink---that WILL change someday. 3" chop and smoothed.
|
Re: Chop Tops ???
Another problem with chopped tops is they leak if there not done right. My buddy had his 69 C10 chopped and it leaked like crazy.
