Re: Aluminum cleaner??

DO NOT use oven cleaner on aluminum, you'll be very very sorry, read the can label !!!

What are you trying to get off, light grease ??? Mix up some dish soap or Simple Green 50/50 with water and spray it on, let it soak for a whaile and hit with a power washer or car wash.

What are you cleaning?
Lots of cleaners and chemicals will etch aluminum.

Re: Aluminum cleaner??

NO OVEN CLEANER!!!! I always use "Simple Green" or "Castrol Super Clean" on aluminum. Oven cleaner can turn the aluminum black and can etch it bad....

Re: Aluminum cleaner??

Castrol Super Clean can also etch aluminum, I found out the hard way.
How about regular engine cleaner? I have had good luck with Foamy Engine Brite, I think it is safe for aluminum.

Re: Aluminum cleaner??

Oven cleaner will work if you plan on painting it like 68 short step did.
But it will turn it colors you dont want if you want to leave it bare aluminum! So Dont use OVEN CLEANER!

Use Aluma Brite at work on diamond plate aluminum plates on exterior of truck. Removed all stains. looks good. just spray it on and let it do the work. Think we got it at B-Line.
