Multi process welders.
 

My Hobart had a rather spectacular death about a hour ago, and I feel much like a smoker without any cigarettes.

So I am looking at the Harbor freight orange box multi process machine.

Or just buying another standard mig like a Hobart or Harbor Frieght green box version.

What is your guy's opinions on the Harbor Frieght stuff? Is it worth the investment or am I better off with another Hobart.

I have always been a Miller welder guy. Never had an issue. They just work for me. I'm just a hobby guy not a production shop..
Harbor Freight has good to great reviews on a number of their products.
I think it depends on your usage. What service support does HF provide if there is an issue? Again nothing against HF but I don't think the folks at the HF store can provide much tech advice. Where I buy my Miller equipment I know they can help tech questions wise.
Spares for HF the tips, drive wheels and other stuff that wears out as you use it?

I have both a Hobart 185 and a Vulcan 220 omnipro...
the Hobart is about 30yrs old and has served me well
But I will say the Vulcan I think is as good if not better.. the mig is very smooth
and its tig and stick, can do aluminum with the spool gun
And can run on 110 or 220..
I got the Vulcan just for the tig...and i got it before they nearly doubled in price..

I have one of the Titanium welders from HF and other than the cheap regulator I have no complaints, I've had it about 5 years now. I've heard nothing but good things about the Vulcan welders they offer, I eventually want to get one of those.

ive never bought anything other than disposable stuff out of Horrible Freight... if youre getting a welder look at Miller, Lincoln, or Esab
