Towing and the Paxton supercharger

I have a 2018 Silverado of which I really adore the little 4.3 ecotec 6 gun. On my trip to Colfax I got almost 22mpg pulling just a trailer, and almost 15 hauling the truck back home through the mountains.

This is not a question for my 2018, but what if I swapped one into a 74 rcsb truck. To which I add Corvette pump, and injectors. Along with a Paxton style supercharger? It should be good to 500hp, and get me insane fuel economy like my Silverado does when I cruise.

Would the supercharger work for towing when I am at 8000 feet. So the engines hp doesn't roll over on me when I need it most.

On my trip to Colfax Ca this week to get a 54 Chevy truck. When I left I took the scenic route, and my truck was barely able to hack it engine wise. A couple of stretches it slowed down to 50mph. Which honestly is pretty impressive for a base engine.

You will lose milage simply adding a belt driven SC. Less with a syntrifical than a roots. This is simply because you are turning another accessory.

Then there is the merging on the freeways etc. that your right foot will have to be managed 😁
