SparkPlugs in a 4x4

Ok offroaders what plugs do you like and why?

I realize alot of plugs are very similar and most all will work fine.
I will be replacing all my plugs soon and thought I would get all the opinions out there :uhmk:

My engine: 1974 454 w/aftermarket EFI about 9:2 compression and Mallory ignition.

336781 w/oversized valves
The vlaves are 2.19 & 1.88
The heads were shaved and the block decked. Even had the intake shaved to line up the ports perfectly.
What you think?

Re: SparkPlugs in a 4x4

this may offend some, so first off if it does im sorry, but from what ive seen and experienced for myself, i wouldn't put autolites in a lawn mower. they arent worth the metal they are made out of. i ONLY run AC Delcos. for your engine, i would say a R44TS, or because of the EFI i would recomend a CR43TS

NGK- good but overpriced
Bosch- okish, not highly recomended
champion- small lawn mower type engine only

Re: SparkPlugs in a 4x4

I only use AC plugs in my old stuff. In fact, I use whatever is OEM. Be it a car im working on at work, my own stuff, a friends car I'm helping wrench on, ect... OEM. My Toyota truck I have NGK.

AC plugs are great, even for engines that have been modified. I use AC R45TS plugs in my Nova, and it has a completely aftermarket ignition setup (MSD box, Accel dist, ect) lots of people say theyre only good for bone stock applications.

One thing to say away from is those splitfire, or Bosch +2 or +4 plugs... waste of money eclectricity ALWAYS follows the path of least resistance.. meaning only one electrode will fire anyway, so 2 or 4 is pointless. Hope I didnt seem like I was rambling.

I use ac delco.

Re: SparkPlugs in a 4x4

I really like autolites in motors with compression above stock,I also use them in my 92 softtail as well. With that said I have ac's in both stock motors in my 2wd and 4x4- ac seems to foul out quickly in higher compression engines.

Re: SparkPlugs in a 4x4

Not a big block but I run ACDelco's in my TBI'd 383 and like em pretty well.

NGK's in all my toys though, snow machines, dirt bikes, 4wheelers etc.

Cool!
Thanks for the comments fellas!
:mm:
I'll prolly try the NGKs
I am running Bosh Platnum in there now, same plug I ran in my 350. Never had an issue with them just looking for a change I guess.
I'll be pulling the plugs to adjust my rockers so I figured I'll toss in some new plugs while I gotum out :ito:

Here it is! The best spark plug ever:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/wcsstore/jc...8833G_CL_3.jpg

And they only want $25 bucks EACH

I was reading some reviews on a corevette site and most all think this is a scam, marketing ploy...

Too rich for me to "try"...
