NP205 Speedo delete
2 Attachment(s)
I have a 72 Blazer that I recently had a LS swap performed on. I have a leak on the NP205 that I believe is coming from the speedo. I have attached photos. My question is what can I do to solve this. Can I cap it? If so, what size and thread is it? (I have searched and cant seem to find it). Should I remove it altogether and plug it?
Thanks in advance |
Re: NP205 Speedo delete
Replace the seal in the adapter. See here: https://www.motorcityk5.com/i-13102-...=category:9415
This is designed to work w a speedo cable of course so may not be the cure. Other guys might have an idea about a possible cap. |
Re: NP205 Speedo delete
Replacing the seal in the cable connection may do nothing if the cable is not attached. ORD sells caps. I purchased one as I no longer need the cable speedometer wih my LS swap. Cannot remember which one I purchased for my 72?

Re: NP205 Speedo delete
Many of these transfers cases do not have any speedometer seals installed from the factory.
It was ok if they leaked back when, I guess. I have successfully added seals th the speedometer output. I would plug it off if you have an electronic speedometer. In regular speedometers the cable has nothing to do with it leaking or not. A cap with a seal may help. A screw on thread protector will do nothing. |

Maybe this plug is what you need: https://www.offroaddesign.com/np205-...20-thread.html

Re: NP205 Speedo delete
My 72 had 1"-20 thread. I plugged it with the ORD plug when I installed my vss for my 4l80e

I admire the skill that it would take to crank items like this out and was just curious how it would be done. I'll have to pay a visit to the shop if the border guards will allow me to cross :)

Re: NP205 Speedo delete
You must have been talking bout the hole the speedo gear threads into.
I was just thinking a cap for the speedometer threads on the plug. So you are correct. |

I made two of the plugs.
$20 each includes shipping. I am only making two. |

Just think, if you made and sold one or two you could actually pay to support this site as a member.

As I've said before, charge businesses to post ads on here, not individuals trying to build their trucks and sharing the odd part amongst each other. If Billy wants to sell Bob a bolt for his truck, he should righfully be able to do so without having to pay an extortion fee. I'm sure you agree. |
Re: NP205 Speedo delete
No. I don't agree with you on this.

Re: NP205 Speedo delete
I should have posted this on the For Sale section.
Thanks for the reminder |
