patina pic with satin or matte clear coat

I can't seem to find any pics of patina trucks with matte or satin clear coat. They all have a high gloss clear coat. Can anyone help?

I noticed that too, seems weird to me to make an old paint shine.

do a google search for "boiled linseed oil patina paint", it is a little shiny right when applied but turns satin/matte quickly. I used BLO on some bed wood before.

I think it is because most people don't re-clear it. They use a buffer to accentuate the patina and that tends to leave a shinny aged finish. I plan to satin clear mind after I'm done adding to the faux-tina.

Kind of a waste of time and money to clear coat rust isn't it?

Not if you want to preserve the current look. Same reason you would clear shinny plaint.

I think what he's trying to say is that spraying a layer of clear over rust isn't going to stop the rust.
