Alum. wheel cleaner?
I have tried 2 or 3 commercial wheel cleaners and they clean the brake dust, don't bother the paint but they seem to etch the machined aluminum, leaving it looking bad. I have spend a good bit of time polishing to get them looking good again and this is just a pet peeve of mine.
So, what do you recommend to clean them with? And, should I look at clear coating them next time I clean them? If so any recommendations as what to spray them with? https://scontent-b-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/...18367204_n.jpg |
Re: Alum. wheel cleaner?
I use Mothers aluminum wheels cleaner. It comes in a spray bottle. Then I use either Blue Magic or Mothers aluminum polish with Mothers power ball. Living down a gravel road, doing it that way just about makes them look brand new.

Re: Alum. wheel cleaner?
Not much out there for cleaners that you just spray on and walk away for aluminum. All will need a soft brush or sponge.
As far as a polish nothing better on the market IMO then Bush's |
