ATHS Tri-State Truck Show
5 Attachment(s)
Coming up this week. Thurs 22nd - Sat in Clear Brook, VA at the Ruritan Grounds on US11 just north of Winchester. Anyone anywhere near with any old truck should try to go. Big or small, older, any condition. Or go to look at 300+ trucks. Friday and Saturday are both looking to be perfect days, and I mean perfect. In case you don't know what that is, sunny with high on Friday 69 and Saturday 73. Thursday kind of sketchy, chance of rain. Come enjoy the show in the Shenandoah Valley. Bring the family. Grandpa would love it! Ok, I'll quit. come if you can.

Wish it was closer to me, but that 2nd photo of the green med duty is the look I am dreaming about for my ‘63 C50 thanks for the inspiration!

It's too bad you aren't (a lot) closer. You guys have some really nice ATHS chapter shows out your way I'd like to go to. That green LCF is sweet. It actually belongs to a fellow member here, c60clf. He also owns the red '72 C/50 ramp body. He's a body man. He does good work, ya think?
Good luck on getting your '63 done! |
Re: ATHS Tri-State Truck Show
The 3 in the 3rd picture you posted of Ota Stevenson trucking are local to me here in Salisbury. You probably saw them at the Redmen show when you came over a couple years ago. He was the one that was actually hosting the show here.

Re: ATHS Tri-State Truck Show
Yep, I'm familiar with Ota. He is a huge supporter of the old truck hobby. I've talked to some of the guys who work for him and they say you couldn't find a better boss. He seems like a helluva nice guy. He sure has the nice red big block Chevys! my buddy touched up the pinstripe and maybe lettered the driver's name on the door of his black Marmon. The driver hired him. He said Ota would reimburse him, but he didn't care.
I'm about to head out now! I'll get pictures |

How about this beast of an International? Bill Mason has a heavy haul outfit in Baltimore, and he has a thing for Internationals. Figure he's located in a port city, so he gets all sorts of work. I forget all the exact specs they told me, but I remember the frame is double 12". It's a crane with an International cab. My friend did the mural 20+ years ago, one on each side. I'm impressed they never damaged it, yet the sill below shows the unavoidable telltales of use. That's my friend the painter taking a picture of his work
Attachment 2220887 Attachment 2220888 I didn't get a picture yesterday, but this Emoryville Cabover he custom built. You may never have seen anything like it. now they have an all-wheel drive Paystar with crazy heavy planetary axles they are building |

Re: ATHS Tri-State Truck Show
I always wondered, is this is how the KW Cab Overs sit or do they have Air Bag suspensions to raise up the front end when on the road?

Re: ATHS Tri-State Truck Show
I thinks it's guys running airbags. I am sure about the green one. I believe the KWs are, or were, all spring and Peterbuilt had bags (in rear). That gold one I am curious about. I saw it last year. I was thinking maybe it was built for auto transport
