WTB: Booster rubber boot

Anyone know where I can get a replacement rubber boot that goes on the back of the booster facing the firewall. Here's my booster with the rubber boot missing:

Hey, me too! I ordered a plastic welder from Harbor Freight...I'm going to modify a small plastic squeeze bottle from the 99 cent store, but maybe someone has a source for this hard-to-find part...

I have those available, I think they are $10, not for sure not at the shop.
Thanks, Bill

Bill if you have the boot that fits the 72 style Delco Moraine booster in that picture then I'm looking for two of them as well.

Here is a picture of the boots I have. The one on the left is the one that goes on the booster and the one on the right goes on the rod that goes through the firewall. Just let me know if I can help. I think I only have four of the booster boots in stock.
Thanks, Bill

That booster boot looks like the short one used on the black painted boosters from the earlier trucks to me. The Delco Moraine booster( usually gold cad plated) like the one in the pic with the long black plastic sleeve out the back uses a longer boot.

That boot should be about 2 3/8" to 2 1/2" deep from the back of the booster to the end of the plastic sleeve, assuming the silencer felt is intended to be inside the plastic sleeve. Is your boot deep enough, Bill? If so, I'll take one of each boot as pictured...

ChevyDude 04-28-2004 04:23 PM

Likewise...If it is the correct rubber boot....I'll take one of each.

ChevyDude, you're first on the list...I'm not trying to buy these boots out from under you!!!!! And NICE job on the paint...I hope mine comes out looking that good!

BTW, the booster I have doesn't look exactly like yours...I pulled it out of a '71 3/4-ton C/20...maybe someone can ID it for me...

ChevyDude 04-28-2004 05:11 PM

I never thought you were a hijacker...it's just an item lots of us need. My booster looked just like yours when got it. Take it apart and blast it, prime and paint....it'll look good!

I am going to fabricate the boot if I can't buy one.

Sent pm's to both.
Thanks, Bill

Hey does anyone know if you look at the gold booster above, the ring where it goes white in color does that unscrew to hold the boot that is in question on???

Stepsides 4Ever 04-29-2004 04:09 AM

Hey, ChevyDude...did you take the booster can apart before blasting it?

ChevyDude 04-29-2004 10:09 AM

I took all the brackets off but left the booster itself in one piece.
Just wondering does that ring that is around the black plastic sleeve..does it unscrew to hold the rubber boot on?????

I haven't cleaned mine up enough to tell for certain, but it looks to me that there is a band that encircles the boot and holds it on by compression. Look at the picture of the boot...there is a flange molded on the end of it. That goes against the back of the booster can on mine. I can move the band around with my finger, so I think you put the band on the boot and just slide the boot and band on the back of the can. But then again, from as near as I can tell I think I have a Bendix setup while yours is a Delco, and also mine came out of a 3/4-ton so it looks to be a larger, more robust setup, so your boot may install differently. Can you get a close-up picture of the back of your booster? You may be missing the band that retains the boot...I think that white ring you are talking about is a seal of some sort, but I may be wrong...

I looked at your picture again and the back of the can looks different than mine...can you get a close-up?
