hey guys and gals.... sadly my bro wrecked his 92 extended cab... great truck but i guess things happened i am just glad hes ok.... truck is pretty much scrapped (according to insurance company) i havent seen it but the way my bro say its not as bad as they are sayin it is..but any way.... he bought a new truck.... and hes gonna part his old one out... i want his 700r4 tranny he just had it built...steel panets tow and go verter corvette servos all the good stuff and i was wondering if i could swap the whole tranny and shaft .... its a 92 long bed extended cab two piece shaft.... i am just throwing this out there... my guess would be no... but hey i always find out cool thing on this board... so thanks guys... :burnout:

The drive shaft, you will just have to measure. The tranny will go, but you will have to get one of those electronic lock up kits for the tranny. SUMMIT and JEGS both have the kits and they are not that bad in price.

all i use is a toggle switch to lock up the TQ when ever the truck is in over drive

Go to a drive shaft specialist & they will fix this problem for you.

I have put a TH400 instead of a TH700R4 in a Burb , I took the front part of the two pieces driveshaft coming from the C-10 where the TH400 comes from , C-10 that I was parting out , let it lengthen and the sliding part of the front shaft will be fitted on the RR axle yoke...

I was a little frightened by my decision , but I saw that such drive shafts are installed on 4WD Blazers ( and I presume on 4WD Burbs & trucks either ) , without any problem

I did it that way because I didn't have a bracket to hold the two piece driveshaft on my Burb's frame

Oooops !

forgot to say : the lenghtening & balancing works on my drive shaft costed me 200€ , with a one year warranty.
