Gas Tank Question

Would a 21 gallon Polyethylene Tank thats a direct replacement for a 67-72 burb fit under my 71 c10 without any problems ?

It will fit, but you must make a couple of alterations to your truck first.
1.) Remove 1" crossmember that the original spair tire sets up against.
2.) Notch 1 1/2" deep, the second from the rear bed bottom cross sill, so the tank flanges can rest against the bottom of the frame rails.
3.) Drill the frame for the J-bolts and strait bolts.
4.) Figure out some sort of gas filler for it. (A popular one is at this link: http://www.classicheartbeat.com/mark...t_gas_door.htm )

i used a steel replacement tank for a blazer/suburban on my 68 C10 truck without any problems. i purchased this tank from Kenny's chevy truck parts he told me at the time of purchased that he stoped selling the poly replacment tanks because of too many complants of leaks caused by the tank distorting.
i think you should check into this more before you buy one. price is about the same for both. i think the poly tank would fit ok if you can find a quality piece.
good luck.
