My "New" Blazer

I just picked up my new Blazer from cheyenne10 in Eugene. :D What a great truck and a great board member selling it. I drove it back from Eugene to Seattle on Sunday and it drove like a champ! 70 plus the whole way and it felt wanted to go faster! :D

Thanks Bob! It was a pleasure meeting you and doing business with you!

My '69 Blazer will be up for sale soon...

Southern Rebel 06-07-2004 11:39 AM

Congrats!!

Very Nice Blazer :flag:

cheyenne10 06-07-2004 12:21 PM

Treat her right!!

Chris;

Glad all went well. I'm jealous again!! Keep us all posted on plans and pics. It would look good up in the WA. Cascades with Mountain backdrop. Tucker was sad to see it go but kids are jazzed on new Sub. too.

Diddos on board member Chris. He and his wife were real nice people. I could talk trucks all day (as some of you know) and plan to do more as time allows. I need to get up to WA. state to check in with active group up there. I feel better knowing blazer is in great hands and still in NW, I might get another peek at it some day, maybe even a ride for old times as short as they may have been. Had to do one of those "whats best for family checkins".

Take care.

Gonna switch over the 35's right?

bouncytruck 06-07-2004 01:11 PM

I'm not going to make any tire/wheel switches for a while. If I do switch, I've got to change the gearing too, the 3.08s are way to high for big tires. Beside that, I'm broke now!

Yukon Jack 06-07-2004 03:00 PM

That is one beautiful Blazer! Looks like it just got home from the dealer. Congrats!!

Southern Rebel 06-07-2004 03:06 PM

How many gas tanks does that blazer have?

It looks like there are 3 fill necks or am I just seeing things? They didn't come with 3 did they?

MMGOODIE 06-07-2004 03:20 PM

i was wondering that same thing but after looking at the backend shots you can see two gas tanks have been put in. one on each side.

Just swap all the axles from the 69.

bouncytruck 06-07-2004 04:21 PM

It has 3 tanks. The two in the back are dealer added, along with the step bumper. There was a set of these tanks for sale on the parts board not too long ago. They are around 10 gal each, although I just filled all the tanks before hitting the highway for the 5 1/2 hour drive.

71 Blazer CST man 06-07-2004 04:32 PM

Nice tanks

Nice tanks but damn i wonder what that must feel like when ya hit the highway and they're loaded up? I can feel the difference in ride on my blazer between a full and empty tank. All i have is the orig. one too, ONE. 18/21gal? something like that? Would just seem to me like having 3 full tanks would be noticable? :banghead: Eh, Maybe its just my dead as a door nail springs!!! :whine:

bouncytruck 06-07-2004 05:26 PM

I can't really feel them. I can hear the gas sloshing around though. Maybe it is because they are so narrow I don't get much side to side. It would be nice if they had baffels in them to stop some of the sloshing though.

71Blazer 06-07-2004 05:44 PM

Hard to believe it's 32 years old! Very nice!

Gee_Emm 06-07-2004 06:55 PM

Wow, I hope you keep it looking like that, there arent enough of them around with the all original look.
:metal:

JayDubBlazer 06-07-2004 07:05 PM

New/Old Blazer

Really sweet score...congrat's.
I saw this on the board awhile back and had to send the guy a pm and tell him how nice it was...yeah, stock looks way cool

Gee_Emm 06-07-2004 09:46 PM

Do you happen to know what color that is? Looks really close to what my Jimmy will be.

Swbman 06-07-2004 10:54 PM

1970blazin 06-08-2004 12:07 AM

Bouncytruck!!! I can't believe you bought that blazer!! That is the nicest original blazer I have ever seen....
Is it as nice as the pictures look? Great score! Maybe we can meet the family now that you have a back seat with seatbelts. :-)

color

Official color is listed as Red Orange. Not sure if just a 72 color. I believe this color name is used in other yrs but maybe shaded different.

TN farmer 06-08-2004 12:34 AM

Congratulations Bouncytruck I am glad to see another board member is the proud owner and keep us posted on any changes. If I only lived about 1500 miles closer it would have been a race to see who could get there first.

Congrats ...You gotta love that fresh untouched peice of machinery. Man my blazer had tanks like that in the back. I was too young and stupid to know they were dealer options.:( COOL rig by the way.

Gee_Emm 06-08-2004 09:03 AM

Hmm, mine is listed as Med. Red., but red orange would be a very good way to describe it.

Big J 06-08-2004 10:24 AM

That is a sweet blazer! :metal:

Gee Emm, Red-orange must be the chevy version of Med. Red. Probably exactly the same color!

If anything, Bob understated the condition of this rig. It is in great shape. I'm so pleased.

Diane, just put the baby seat in the back last night! Hopefully I'll be taking my wife & daughter for a ride tonight.
