Question on internal VR alternator conversion
 

Some time ago someone posted some info on how to convert from the external voltage regulated alternator to a later model alternator with the VR internal. I can't seem to find the post and was wondering if anyone has the info handy. Basically I think it was making up to jumpers for the connection to the external regulator, but I don't recall which wires to which.

Any info is appreciated.

jump the 1st to the 3rd, and the 2nd to the 4th wires

Thanks for the response. The only thing is, I found two sources on the net which show 1 to 4, 2 to 3. Any ideas on what goes to what?

i cant help you right now but i know they sell a little kit that you just plug into your old harness and into your new internally regulated alternator. makes like alot easier. check out some of the vendors on the board.
