WTB-350 Vortec for a 96-2000
As posted in the 88-98 parts board-thought it would get more views here.
I have recently purchased a 96 Burb with water in the engine oil. Don't know if it has been over heated (suspect it has) so don't know if I want to mess with this engine-considering just replacing engine. I think the Vortecs are the same from 96-2000. Anybody have one with reasonable miles and price. Let me know. email at rgengler@relmbk.com Thanks, Randy |
could be the headgaskets or i wonder if the itnake manifold gaskets were repalced. they were recalled on almost ALL vortec engines. just some options to think about but i hear you on the not wanting to mess with it

If it had been mine when the problem started and I knew it hadn't been hot or ran this way for a while, I would have no problem with finding the source of the leak and fixing it. I suspect that the intake gaskets have failed, but without knowing if it has been like this for a while or not, I am afraid there may be bearing damage from running with water in the oil or head damage from being run hot.
