Try measuring the frame rail's to see if it will fit I am thinking it may hang down really low ,but I could be wrong..

I have a 77 4x4 chassis under my truck and mine works great but dont know about the older frames. Another board member told me over last weekend that there was a lot of differences in the frames when he looked at mine.

It does tuck up tight in the frame of the burb. I was just wondering if it was worth removing?? I'll have to crawl under it and do some measuring.

This is the replacement, one of them came with my Jimmy and I am trying to sell it and get a proper tank.

Heres another pic. I just can't find the pic I am looking for though. If you look real close you can see the tank peeking out under the bed. (It is silver)

I will as soon as I get it off the jack stands and outta the garage. I have had a overwhelming amount of people wanting to see new/more pics so I hope to have it out this weekend and get some more pics with the new digi cam. It has been on them stands for months now waiting for me to finish my tranny job on it. I want to drive it so bad it hurts LOL.

Oh one more thing the very rear crossmember will need to be moved and or modified. Can't believe I forgot that. I moved mine back and bolted it in with grade 8 bolts. Was less than a 15 minute job on mine. And I notched the bed floor crossmember just for good measure. Sorry I just recalled that. Too much stuff going on here lately.

The burb tank is to long, you will run into axle interference with a shortbed. Looks like it fits a longbed fine from Stano's pics. A 31 gal Blazer tank should fit from those years. I still have not finished the install of the 1990 31 gal Blazer tank in my truck due to lack of time. But I can tell you it does fit.

Richard, you are right!!! After some measuring I found the burb gas tank much too long for the short wheelbase frame.
Obviously it does fit the longbox trucks though.
Thanks guys!!!

now i lknow where to get my tank thanx guys

I'd recommend a 30 gallon Blazer tank, I was gonna put a Suburban tank into my 80 LWB, but I was worried about the clearance between the front of the tank and my 14 bolt rear... It was just too close. The 30 gallon tank on the other hand would fit right in back there with no rear end clearance issues :)
