radiator crack.

I've got a little hairline crack about an inch long on the plastic part of my radiator, right next to the upper hose, and it leaks a lot. any suggestions on something to fill it? thanks.

You might try JB Weld once the motor is cool and let it sit for 24hrs.

You're more than likely going to have to replace the radiator. Cracks like that are very common in those plastic rads

You can get the just the tank replaced at a good radiator shop. Cost like $60, better than hundreds for a new radiator.

I had a crack in my 97, tried to fix it, and just kept leaking. Get the tank replaced. I have the bigger rad in mine with the engine oil cooler, and it cost me $100 to get it fixed. That's with me pulling the rad and taking it to them.

My brother tried everything he could think of on his '97 'burb, and finally bought a radiator with metal tanks.

I just had mine done in my 2500, replaced both tanks and cleaned for $125.00. better than $389.00 new

I had the large plastic capped junk style repaired and replaced so many times it wasnt funny, and still everytime I tried to pull my boat with my 11' camper through the desert to the river with the a/c on the dang thing overheated, finaly after 3 years of frustration I went old school had a 4 row brass custom cut lower to fit under the hood, modified my fan shroud, and easily fabed some niffty hold down's. it's been 2 years and have never had a single problem again. plus if I ever do fuind myself in the middle of nowhere and a little leak does appear, a little solder a little heat and presto im on the road again. PLUS the rad shop only charged me 100 bucks for the custom work on a rad that I bought out of a junk yard for 20 bucks.
some times life can throw ya a good one :D
