How big of a tire will fit a stock 4x4?

I know this has been discussed before; I just can't seem to find it?
I wanted to know how tall of a tire would fit a stock 3/4 ton 4x4?
Would a 285/75R/16?

That's probably about right. I've got some really tall tires on my 2wd, they'd probably look good on a 4wd too. I'll check what size they are when I get time.

Thanks I appreciate that.

That size tire would fit easily. My K20 had some tires that measured just under 33" on it when I bought them and they fit fine.

Cool! Thanks Yukon, I thought they would. I still have the body off the frame and couldn't remember how much room I had with my current 265's.

My 72 1/2 ton has 32-11.50-15's on it with the stock suspension. Fit, dont rub, and look pretty good.

A true 33x12.50 will be as large as you can go.

I am running MT 33x12.50 and they almost rub on the wheel wells when I turn but they are as big as you can go

I'm running 33/12.50-16.5s, but I cheated a bit - several years ago I notched the leading edge of the front fenders to clear my TruTracs (remember those?). Their 15" rims didn't have correct offset....
