removing door panels??
trying to install my alarm, but i cant figure out how to get the door panels off. all of the screws are taken out but now what?
okay, i was missing 2 screws in the arm rest.
now how do i get the window crank off? |
THere's a "U" shaped metal clip that you have to remove with a screwdriver. Make sure to keep an eye on it, it can fly pretty far.
There is a u shaped clip holding the widow crank on, Usually you ( I ) can get it off with 2 small screwdrivers on either side, since I am too cheap to buy the tool.
Instead of screwdrivers, I actually bought the window crank removal tool (or whatever it is called) for a few bucks at Autozone. I've used it so many times now on different vehicles.... well worth the money.
don't forget about the line of clips at the top of the panel, i find it easyest to roll the window all the way down to get thoes
I vote for buying the window crank tool. Its not expensive.

Why do you need the doorpanels off to install the alarm?
Oh yeah your putting actuators in. Nevermind. How is the install going?
well, the actuators are in and everything to do with the doors is done.
a lot of the wiring is ran, but not really. my friend is coming back over saturday to finish it. he has to get the install book for the alarm from his work(car audio shop) i'm trying to figure out where to locate the brain and the relays for the remote start at. |
Are you using some sort of solenoid to kick the throttle to allow the engine to start when cold? Or are you planning fuel injection in the future?
