hello...it's been awhile...
I'm here late at night drink some DOS X. I have not posted in a very long time....been real busy. I recently got hired at Autozone, I am the parts dilevery guy for commercial accounts. i'ts great....lots of hours....I am full time for the summer and learning alot and am slowly gaining some connections with local shops, on some future work for my truck. BUT.....I also work at the Hastings here in town on the evenings......yep...gonna make some money and pay some debts...and then save for a new motor for my truck. so far so good for my 305....still knocking but no difference in performance so far....a mechanic I talked to on one of my delivery runs with AZ said that he had a bearing knock that lasted for a year.....I hope I'm that lucky, it will give me more than enought time to get a new motor.
I also got really tired of two botched intake gasket replacements on my truck which left me with a worse oil leak which was done by an OLD mechanic....so I finally got it done myself....no rubbers....just RVT. My room mate helped me clean the intake while I cleaned the block rails and stuff. I have yet to see if I did a good job...I did not have access to a torque wrench so I tried my best to get the bolts in nice and snug in the suggested pattern from a chilton manual. I hope it turns out well. Gonna drive it tommorow night after I visit my dad. I am happy and proud that I did it my self......I hope I didn't F&$* it up. so far every thing is cool...thanks for listening ladies and gents!!! Later!!!!!! Roger.... |
Welcome back, know work can take alot of hours from the day.

Congrats on the new job! & I fully agree, there is nothing in the world like doing a job yourself. Anyone can sign a check. I have a special connection to both of my trucks, b/c I know I did all the work on them.
