I got it in the rear last Saturday!!

I had just finished fixing my 89 ex cab and sinking about $5000 into it when some broad rear ends me in the rain. Get this she told the cop she wasn't watching where she was going because she was trying to catch a friend of hers because she thought she might have a wreck. Never hit brakes and slammed me going about 55. Messed up my bumper, exhaust, bed, cab and leaf springs on passenger side. It has been six days since the accident and still no claims adjuster from Geico has come to look at truck yet. Getting a little bit ticked with the stupid little green lizard!!! Whew I feel better now, thanks.

That really sucks....but at least you didn't get hurt......I had the same thing happen to me last year.....took about 21 days to fix the truck and settle the claim....the only good thing about Geico was after they saw the truck the check came about 3 days later.

Surely you have insurance...like uninsured motorist. You know that Arkansas won't let us renew our tags if we don't have insurance. So, just turn the claim in to your insurance agent and let them do something for the money you paid 'em.

Here in Benton, for a long time, the prosecuting attorney (an old neighbor) told the Benton P.D., that, "Unless you witness the accident, you will not write a ticket on a driver, even though you know that a specific driver was at fault". A neighbor's daughter had a '77 Corolla (this was a long time ago) and it got rear-ended by a Cadillac. The driver of the Caddie told the investigating officer that he wasn't watching the traffic, because he was watching some guy on the side of the road who was carrying a gas can. The officer didn't issue him a ticket. When the neighbor asked the officer why he didn't issue him a ticket, he told him, "I didn't see the accident, and I can't issue a ticket if I didn't see it happen". Long story short; he offered the neighbor $1000 to settle it. Said he didn't own any property and the car was his mother-in-laws' who had died and was in probate. Guess what? Neighbor got squat outta the deal.

Glad you weren't hurt. Sorry your truck was, right after you got thru fixin' it up. Good luck.

Told you I'd check this message board.

sux man.. Back in Feb we were hit by a drunk driver.. Took Allstate 3 weeks to admit liability and then another 2 weeks to get a check for the damages to the truck. I haven't fixed the damage on the chevy yet.. My woman took the money and bought herself a big bronco... (the chevy is hers so the money was hers to spend)

I finally heard from the insurance company and they want to total the truck because the frame on the passenger side is bent up about 3 inches higher than the drive side, and all the other damage. Still having hard time getting to talk to actual people and not voice mail. Either they will fix my truck(with help from lawyer) or give me enough to buy back and fix myself. I'll keep you posted.
