does this seem funny to you guys
 

i found a top a few hours from my house for sale and in the pics it looks nice but the only pics i have saw are of the left side. the guy claims it is nos but it is painted so i know it isnt plus it looks like their are a couple of blemishes in the one pic. he wants 400 for it but he wont give me anymore pics and he insists on being pre paid he wont let me come down their and pay cash when i pick it up. to see it first.

does this seem fishy to you?

I can "almost" see the right side through the window, but I can't tell what condition it is in. Might be missing the glass on that side.

look at the side window about 3/4 of the way up on both sides you can see a seam and on the right side especially in the one pic their is a big dimple. it just dont feel right prepaying this guy because its obvious it isnt nos and he wont give me anymore pics of it, or let me pay cash when i pick it up. pre pay only. would you do it?

I don't know meathead.... It does not make any sense to me why the guy refuses your visit with cash. I think I'd pass (IMO) I don't know much about blazer tops are they getting hard to find? Doug

I would tell the guy flat out that unless he shows some pics of the passanger side (and check for that seam to make sure he didn't just "mirror image" the pic) that you're not going to buy it. That is not the only top in the world.

Who in their right mind would really think that someone would buy an item without being able to see it??? Especially when he won't even send you more pictures of the other side !!!

sounds like this guy is trying to rip you off. Prepaid?- That's rediculous, only do something like that on ebay and pay with a credit card, so if the item is misrepresented, you can dispute the deal and get your money back. Tell this guy to take that top and shove it up his ass.

I agree, if he won't take cash on the spot I'd pass too. If the top is represented honestly, he shouldn't have any problem with you paying when you show up.

PREPAY!!! NO WAY!!! He may not even own a top and will just take your money and run- I have never even heard of a NOS top. I don't think so. Tell him you will pay cash at pickup- even if he has pics of the other side----never prepay...you don't know this guy from Adam. I bought a singlewall top for $450 and by the looks of that top it is worth $400 (if it has a good working hatch) but drive down and pay cash to the man, if he won't agree move on and let him sucker someone else. Very true. He may not be able to give you any more pics because these were the only pics he was able to yank off of somebody else's auction on ebay or something.

First off, even single wall tops have seams and they show as the fiberglass ages. Those horizontal crack in front of the side window is the manufactoring seam. Both of my single wall tops have them and it is normal. You can fill them if you like. Now on the rear trailing edge, there appears to be a dent/bump/blemish of some sort about a 1/4 of the way down from the top. That doesn't look correct or even normal wear. The top I have for sale is really pretty decent with good side glass, and one small piece broken off the leading edge of the passenger side. $125. with no hatch.

Something is rotten in Denmark. I wouldn't have anything else to do with the guy.

Keith, I wouldn't pre pay, if he won't get you more pics. If your going down there with cash but he doesn't want to deal, something is wrong with the top in my mind, that just doesn't make sense. He's hiding something.

The pictures were also took in two different buildings. Seems odd to move it then sell it. Could be he bought it by one of the pictures provided and then seen or did something to the top and the took additional pis to sell it.

Meathead, Did you find this on ebay? My buddy almost got scamed on there trying to buy a small tractor in upstate NY.

Maybe he can't take another picture of it because he doesn't have it, another reason why he doesn't want you to come look at it first.

All I know is never trust anyone who won't take cash.

I saw that on ebay and am pretty close. I thought about contacting the seller and going to take a look. Doesn't look like that will happen now
