Why are all of the good deals on the other side of the country? :banghead: lol

SLS 07-10-2004 12:36 PM

"Why are all of the good deals on the other side of the country?"

Man oh man.....I don't know how many times I said that when looking for a RUST-FREE Short-Fleet bed for my '71 Custom Deluxe. I must have seen 4 or 5 NICE ones over on your side of the woods...at 1/2 the price of what I paid for one...and still had to drive to Virginia to get it........LOL!

silvertonguedevil 07-10-2004 12:46 PM

 Really? I have been saying that to myself ever since I stumbled upon this board. It seems like there must be one of these trucks in every single yard over there and everybody is willing to sell 'em for next to nothin'. I just saw a short wide box sell for $300. I just paid $1200 for a shortbox frame and widebox.

SLS 07-10-2004 12:52 PM

$300 for a Short-Wide? RUST-FREE and not whacked? Somebody is very, very happy,, I'm sure. I paid a Grand for mine...but it is a good 'un.

Most of the old trucks/part around here are either steep money...or look like Swiss cheese packed with newspaper and bondo...LOL!

Now, Arizona and New Mexico seem to be nice places.........

SLS 07-10-2004 06:07 PM

Looks like he got a sweet deal. A little fixing and BAM!.....a real nice bed!

Louisiana.....who'da thunk it? A rust free bed down in the bayou...LOL!

ZOOMY 07-11-2004 10:25 AM

good deal

This is a very good deal. I was going to buy it, but clinched a deal on a '67 first. If it's still here in a week or 2 when I have time, I might still drive down there to get it.............ZZ

BIGCHEVYMAN 07-12-2004 11:10 AM
