Booster vacuum hose to manifold
Can you guys help and post a few pictures of the brake booster hose connection to the intake or carb.
I have an orig 307 2bbl. There is a plug cap screwed on top of the intake. it is behind the carb on the passenger side. I think i might have to take the plug cap off and put a plug with a hose connection, but i'm not sure. Thanks for the help. |
that is the usual place. You will also find some carbs with a vac location in the base plate of the carb on the back side.

to run out to the garage and take some digital pictures of what you need, but I'm too computer-unsavy to post the pics. If I can send them to someone who can post them, I'll be glad to help. The BURB engine is rebuilt with original 307 / 2 bbl and all the original hoses, routing, connections,etc.

While we are on this subject. I just got a booster package in the mail from Jason and was wondering, can I tee it into the vacuum line going to the PCV valve or should I run it to the plug on the side of the intake manifold near the base of the carb.. Trucks a 72 C-10 with a I-6 250. Thanks, Mike

Here is a pic, hopefully you can see the vacuum "tree" that screws into the intake manifold where the vacuum line for the booster connects to.
The PCV hose should connect to the vacuum source on the base of the carburetor. Jim |

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but PCV hose and the hose to the brake booster should both be manifold vacuum. The higher vacuum volume is what you need to properly operate those systems. The ported vacuum is for the distributor advance and the modulator on the transmission, and is lower volume.
When I installed an Edelbrock Performer intake, I couldn't use the Tee that was on the old intake. I went through some adapters and got the vacuum to the booster, and to the modulator. The Q-Jet (Edelbrock 1901) had ports for the timed vacuum that the distributor needs. Everything works well. |

I have POWER!!!!!
I almost went thru the windshield on the test drive today!!!! No need for disk brakes. The drums and the booster are so far the best upgrade for the buck. Next is power steering. Thanks for all y'alls help. |
:metal: Yes! I installed my booster last weekend on my inline WoW ! Next to my Hei has to be the best addition yet! Can't imagine converting to disc brakes!which I am eventually going to do.The correct place to pull vac for the booster from on an inline is the square plug on manifold ,below the carb. :bowtie:
